Just sick of Penrith winning!

Good luck to the Melbourne Storm tonight, time to spoil that record and the Panthers’ party :raised_hands:

On a more serious question, what’s the general feeling amongst traditional/rusted on RL fans, particularly in heartland Nsw? Is it how Victorians felt by 2003/2004 about the Brisbane Lions or in 2015 with Hawthorn in the AFL? They’d consecutively won so many, that it almost zapped vibe and interest out for a lot of neutral supporters or even casual viewers, especially the latter given how one-sided they were. They were boring and flat, people turned off by half time or left the ground. That’s what was so refreshing about 2005 or 2016 with the Sydney Swans & West Coast Eagles and Sydney Swans & Western Bulldogs respectively, fresh teams for the first time in 5 years and a close contest, brought in new eras.

Of course, it can just be unfortunate I guess.

Look at the outcry last week with the AFL GF and Sydney’s abysmal performance (again), but that’s sport, Brisbane just too good on the day and got it :man_shrugging: Glory for one, misery for the other. Game over, move on, welcome 2025. And so on.

We don’t always get match-ups nor contests we want, be it a club fan or a neutral.

I understand people feel that way and while it may appear boring year after year but isn’t it only fair the best team wins? Even if it’s year on year?

The Devils (QLD) beat Newtown Jets (NSW) in the 2024 State Championships Grand Final today, winning 20-18.

First Queensland win in 9 years apparently.

Despite leading 24-0 at half and a massive late comeback on the other end, the Sydney Roosters hold off the Cronulla Sharks to win the 2024 NRLW Grand Final; 32-28 the final score.

Storm are probably the team that can beat the Panthers - they were pretty well clinical against the Roosters last weekend and if they play the same way tonight they’ll make it hard for the Panthers. The unknown in it is what impact not having Nelson Asofa-Solomona will have.

If the Panthers win, it shouldn’t be forgotten that this will be the greatest continuous streak of premierships in some time (not to mention GF appearances) - something that the salary cap should have made hard, if not for the Panthers ability to bring through a strong cohort of juniors to replace departing players.

I think we underestimate what it takes to do it too - its one thing to have a strong team, but to maintain that for multiple years is not easy. There isn’t a doubt that the two best teams of the year are in the NRL Grand Final.

When was the last time the NRL got the pre game entertainment right?

This is shocking. Sky Sport NZ isn’t showing The Kid LAROI’s pre-game performance.

Instead, they are currently showing highlights of last week’s preliminary final.

This continues a tradition of the Sydney Roosters winning a Grand Final played on Sunday October 6.

Their men’s sides won the 2002, 2013 and 2019 premierships on this date, but while they couldn’t qualify for this year’s decider, at least their women’s side were able to, and showed just why they were the best team this NRLW season.

You can watch the pre game entertainment here folks.

Sorry I must have missed the rule change where the ball being grounded over the try line isn’t a try…

Unbelievable :open_mouth: …Melbourne :disappointed:

For Victorians it’s like 2018 again, sad all-round really (AFL and NRL)!
