Did spend a few minutes trying to come up with a good pun…

Cowboys leading tryscorer Kyle Feldt will leave the club at the end of the season, after 14 years.

Fox Sports adds:

At this stage it’s unclear whether the two-time Maroons representative will remain in the NRL or take up an opportunity overseas.

How is he still going with that dead schtick?

Latrell Mitchell has received a one-game suspension and fined $20,000 over a leaked photo of the Rabbitohs star leaning over a white substance.

The club has additionally fined him $100,000 — with $80,000 suspended “pending any further breach of his playing contract or wellbeing program.”

Key to Mitchell’s suspension is the NRL stating it must be served when he is not injured. The 27-year-old hasn’t played since Round 18 due to a foot injury.

Crazy high scoring game at CommBank Stadium today, with Eels beating Dragons 44-40. Eels led 44-12 with 18 minutes to go, before Dragons scored five late tries.

Very close to that comeback, if it happened it would had been one of the greatest moments in Dragons history.

And i think it’s also the highest losing score in history.

Such an odd day with the Dolphins thrashing the Broncos 40-6, and the Warriors edging out my Sharkies 30-28  All three results an upset.

Top 4 finishing order now looks to set that way with Canberra edging out the Chooks 14-12 this afternoon (barring more unlikely upsets next weekend!) with Storm and Penrith now looking like they will get the Top 2 spots and the advantage of two home semis.

The Knights 36-14 win over the Titans in the earlier game this afternoon has put the Novocastrians in the box seat to claim 8th spot, with destiny now in their control with other results having gone their way this weekend.

It sets up a do or die ‘winner take all’ 8th spot battle with the Dolphins next Sunday in Newcastle. Dragons and Raiders (who play each other next week) both need to win their final regular season game next week and hope for an unlikely draw in the Knights-Dolphins game to sneak in. Brisbane’s season is over.

The Chooks’ defeat to Raiders came at a huge cost, with scans yesterday revealed ACL injuries for both halfback Sam Walker and hooker Brandon Smith. Walker will undergo surgery for an ACL rupture in his left knee, while Smith will be placed in a brace after injuring both the MCL and ACL in his right knee.

Roosters pretty much no hope of winning the title now. They still haven’t beaten a Top 4 team this year, even when they had most of their best players available.

They’ve only beaten the Storm and Panthers combined, just once since the start of the 2020 season (Roosters > Storm late in the 2022 season).

And have only beaten the Panthers once since the start of 2019.

IMO, the Panthers’ win over the Roosters in round one, 2020, marked the start of their dynasty (even if that season ended in a runner-up finish for them against the Storm).

NRL boss Andrew Abdo flew to Melbourne today to present the J.J. Giltinan Shield to the Storm at AAMI Park, before the team captain’s run.

It was actually the Storm who requested the JJ Giltinan shield be presented as a low key presentation before the team's captain's run. The NRL was going to present them with the shield tomorrow night at the conclusion of the game, but Storm requested it be presented today

Oh Broncos. Give me strength. Couldn’t even finish the season respectably? Lol

Yep, very disappointing from the Broncos tonight, going down 50-12 to the Storm.

They looked like they couldn’t wait for the season to be over, defence was very soft at times.

100% gave up before the game even began.

Over to the Socceroos now!
