Brisbane have beaten the New Zealand Warriors 42-12 in their Grand Final qualifier match. Some dreadful officiating in this game too where a pass that went four metres forward was not called back, leading directly to a Broncos try.
So we have a Penrith v Brisbane Grand Final next week… why am I not surprised. Broncos will need to play a lot better next week if they want to stand a chance against Penrith. The Panthers were simply awesome last night.

Brisbane were definitely the better team though… And yes it will be a HUGE weekend in Brisvegas coming up… if there is anyone left who isn’t trying to get down to Sydney or Melbourne!

The NRL is pathetic with this Dally M night. It’s just a shit show and the broadcast by Fox is woeful. Endless boredom.
Kalyn Ponga has won the 2023 Dally M NRL Mens Player Of The Year. He pipped the favourite, Warriors half Shaun Johnson, by 1 vote.
Tamika Upton won the equivalent NRLW Player Of The Year, making it a double for the Newcastle Knights.

Kalyn Ponga finally won a Dally M medal. He was a favourite for the medal in 2018 before getting injured late in the season, and lost to Roger Tuivasa-Shack by two votes.

I don’t know who to cheer for on Sunday! I used to like Penrith but sick of them winning all the time. Brisbane have won 6 of 7 Grand Finals that they’ve been in, would still like to see them lose another one.

As a Broncos fan, I admit - the score shouldn’t be as close at it is.
Bronx need to stop with the short goal line drop out and fix their ball handling.

A frenetic first half.
Broncos did well to score just before half time to trail only 8-6, but they’ll need to play a lot better in the 2nd half…. a few too many errors.
By the same token, Penrith should be further in front than just by 2 points, but Brisbane have defended well to concede just the one try, a bizarre one from a fluffed goal line dropout gifting Penrith the easiest try they’ll ever score.
