Yes they will.
Advanced guides (Foxtel) confirm the traditional RCH Good Friday Appeal all-day run is back, mid-morning through to late night (with AFL in-between). Last year was essentially cancelled and Seven reduced to a 1 hour special.
Disappointing that it’s the reduced format used in 2019 (12pm - 4pm & 7:30pm - 11:30pm) rather than the traditional 9am - 12am (with breaks for news at 12pm & 6pm + AFL) telethon
Coverage on 2nd April (this photo was taken yesterday)
Also, this is not directly related to coverage, but thought I’d just post this clip here.
Ridiculous that they start at midday. Should be a 9am start.
I’m just thankful that it’s returning this year, (albeit a 12pm start).
I had a bad feeling that Seven would just scrap it altogether, but luckily I was proven wrong!
Isn’t Lewis Martin on the committee
This week from Monday to Thursday (March 29 to April 1), Jane Bunn is presenting Little Big Hearts, a series of stories on Seven News Melbourne, from her recent visits to Royal Children’s Hospital. Michael features on the first story.
Why on earth would they start at 12. What else are they going to show? Some filler crap
I think The Morning Show info-commercial are more important to show on Good Friday.
Sunrise followed by The Morning Show. Gotta get the $$$$ from the advertorials!
I guess they need it this year. Haven’t put revenue ahead of sick children and the appeal before
Didn’t they do the same in 2019 as well? i.e. started at midday
Correct! 2019 was the first year they commenced a Midday start. Amazing how much more resources goes into the Perth Telethon.
I’m sure Surnise and The Morning Show will do plenty of live-crosses / cross-promotion, they did last times
Unfortunately, if I remember correctly in 2019 there was very little.
Ah that explains it then.
I still think it’s a bad call not doing an earlier start.
