Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal

There will be a separate live stream on GFA website and 7plus from midday today AEDT, so interstate viewers can watch the broadcast and donate to the appeal.
The RCH’s Facebook page also has had live crosses every half hour from 9.15am AEDT today.

The VIC Government will donate $1 million to this years’ Appeal.

Last year, the Government donated the difference between the 2019 final tally and 2020 tally.

The 11am tally is -

Peter Mitchell and Jane Bunn hosting the opening portion of today’s appeal telecast. Not sure if it’s from NEP Studios.

Certainly lacking atmosphere from the past few years when the coverage was held at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre or Marvel Stadium. Hopefully either venue will be used for the appeal next year when the public is allowed in for Kids’ Day Out.

Looks like they’re coming from the NEP studios in South Melbourne today. The old Daily Edition desk is back - they used it last year for the special.

I believe it use to broadcast out of these studios prior to 2002. In some ways it’s returned…

Either the air conditioning is not working in the phone room or Paul Dowsley just sweats a lot, maybe best if he changes his shirt from salmon/pink to something that won’t show.

I thought he was doing ok for the first cross until he shoved that whole potato cake into his mouth, and was back to being himself.

Correct it’s from NEP and Convention Centre this year.

I know that matters regarding television sets are quite minor in the scheme of things, but I’m really disappointed that Seven are using that, to be honest, really ugly NEP studio that gives off a very cold vibe.

I was really hoping they’d use the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre so the event could take place outdoors and feature the general public to give some atmosphere.

It’s a real shame. Bit of a turn off to be honest.

It’s being used as a COVID-19 Vaccination Centre at the moment.

When does the entertainment / celebrity panel type happen? Is that not until the 7.30pm broadcast? I’m not familiar with this telecast but I thought we’d have more by now? Or is Covid impacting that too?
