Good on him for putting that statement out. He is one of the actors who has the most to lose from the show being cancelled and the repeats being dropped throughout the world, seeing he hasn’t had much work beside this show.

Right-wing conspiracy theories place him as a puppetmaster of many different things even vaguely related to (American) liberal-leaning events.
George Soros is an exceptionally busy man, at least according to right-wing conspiracy theorists. Just within the last year, he has been credited with single-handedly funding the Black Lives Matter and Antifa movements, as well as with bankrolling (as a false-flag operation) the white-nationalist rally in Charlottesville against which both of those groups mobilized. Soros has been accused of masterminding Colin Kaepernick’s NFL protest and the Women’s March, and with pulling the strings that led H.R. McMaster, President Donald Trump’s national security adviser, to fire alt-right–aligned staffers. And last week, the supporters of the Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore alleged that Soros paid women to falsely accuse him of sexual assault.

Did the Michael Richards racial slurs lead to Seinfeld reruns being axed worldwide? I really can’t see much difference here except for the fact it was the titular character this time.

I completely agree with everyone who’s saying that the decision by ABC to cancel Roseanne + Ten (and any other international broadcasters who’ve done likewise) following suit by removing the program from its schedules is the right one.
BTW, good decision to make a thread for this.
That title though. Whichever mod came up with that deserves a doubling of their monthly Reichmarks allocation.

So many people - not just Roseanne herself - put incredibly long hours into this show and now they find themselves without a job. Could the show continue without Roseanne? Could it be re-named something like The Conner Family, just as was done years ago when Valerie Harper was sacked from Valerie’s Family, which recreated itself as The Hogan Family?
I feel so sorry for all the people now unemployed through no fault of their own.

Every week it was on I just never got a laugh not like the 90’s version.
Yes she should never have done the tweet & kept her opinions to herself as I feel for the other co stars

Roseanne should have stayed on ten/ eleven I mean sadly in 2018 it’s like a crime to breath

I don’t think the original series or the new season was on Tenplay ever. The statement Ten made I read that the whole series (including the new season) would be canned effective immediately. Shame the new episodes were quite good, but yeah Roseanne fucked herself in the head with these tweets of hers, especially the latest one. From what I read that it was more than one tweet, that they had issues with. This would have been the nail in the coffin.
Hopefully Ten at least plays out the unaired episodes (even in a 1am slot) once the controversy dies down.
