Regional Radio (non-SCA)

Looks like they’ve pushed Carrie & Tommy into 6-8pm

Odd move! I take it are skipping Hughesy & Ed and going straight in to Ash London.

Begins at 7pm (6 EST), so they’re missing an hour (or two).

Radio Today had interesting comment about this station on the article of this drive show.

According to the 91.9 SeaFM Sunshine Coast Instagram, they have Carrie & Tommy followed by Hughesy & Kate still airing between 6-10pm. So no Ash London Live Mon-Fri on Sea.

A good point of difference considering they’re different owners and have a fair amount of overlap with hit105 Brisbane.

More options for more revenue when selling local talent.

This is the kind of thinking Grants should have had before putting Kate, Tim & Marty on delay on WaveFM Wollongong.

Especially considering that it’s also airing at the same time on Power FM Nowra, which its licence area overlap Wave’s by 13% & also transmits from the same TX as Wave at Knights Hill, albeit at a lower power towards Wollongong.

At least the WIN-owned i98FM are still local until 7pm, with Carrie & Tommy airing at 7-9pm, so it now has a local advantage over Wave between 5-7pm, which is particularly important for those commuting home from Sydney. It’s the same type of advantage that Star 104.5 has over Triple M & Hit on the Central Coast.

Not missing out on much having no Ash London on the sunny coast. I feel the format is getting very tired and would be better suited for another time slot. What happened to the days when nights on Austereo were king!

What happened? Regional Rhys and the reverse buyout of Austereo by the regional yet bank funded half. That’s the real mark of the decline of Austereo’s experienced metro staff being lost and poor decisions being made.

Austereo of old wouldn’t have let K&J go.

A new logo has been unveiled for 91.9 Sea FM Sunshine Coast.

How do you delete someone else’s logo?

The old Austereo swirl was past its use by date, but this is a downgrade.

Yes not loving it either. Most logos for regional (and some metro) stations are atrocious and seem to be designed by someone in Word or Paint software.

And yet the Mix rebrand was done so well, go figure

The original Nova want their font back… minus the italics.

And is that Mickey Mouse I can see with a dot in between his ears?

I think it looks like a Boob (with Nipple) and the corona virus next to it.

Woeful.

What is it with using Black… Black Marques and Black cars look great when they are new but are a few of degree hotter and when black gets old it looks crap.

So Mix and Sea now have black everwhere… perfect for that OB at 4am when its pitch black dark and you have street teamers putting signs on traffic islands being cleaned up by drivers who cant see them!

It’s like a cross between Nova and the Hot30…both from 15 years ago.

But yes, lets go with bold and dynamic…

Oops, someone didn’t update the mobile site logo…

The old Austereo/Today’s Network logo design (particularly that 2010s glossy version) was starting to date, but the new logo for 91.9 Sea FM reminds me of something from the Early-Mid 2000s!

I think it’s (WIN logo) Mappy’s cousin.

Elton John concert on Sunshine Coast on Wednesday night.

92.7 Mix FM had at least a couple of hours of his songs for those driving home. No live announcer for concert feedback/traffic etc or associated production when I tuned in to the stream, still a great idea with the overlap of concertgoers and target audience.

Would be interesting to see the online logging of song titles for the full list.

Gold F…I mean, Triple M Gold Coast did the same on Saturday night for Queen. Sounded like they had a live announcer.
