Regional Radio (non-SCA)

Yeah not lov’in the new logo either.
What is that small circle/dot all about?
Circles look like transmitter(s) coverage area circles on a map.
I’d delete the two smallest circles from the logo.
Also the font for the red ‘Sea fm’ text looks a bit retro, I’d change
that to something more contemporary.

And why the “!” after “Hits” in the tagline? Is this referring to the Hit Network “!”?

I’ve been reliably informed Breeze is now testing on 102.5 in Wide Bay. Very much looking forward to checking that out for myself soon. It will provide much needed variety for the region.

It’s like they have tried replicating the logo they had but in MS Paint.

From Mount Goonaneman?

As with Rebel, this will provide extensive fortuitous coverage into the Bundaberg and Maryborough/Hervey Bay markets.

Hopefully 4BU & Hitz will respond with locally scheduled music for their market. We know SCA don’t have the resources.

Yes from Mt. Goonaneman. Breeze is definitely a gap in the market up there and I think the locals will love it. Rebel has pretty good coverage across Wide Bay so I’m thinking Breeze will be just as good.

Website updated to include 102.5 Wide Bay.

Rebel FM website lists Ulan, NSW 107.5FM (Gulgong region), but I don’t find an entry on the ACMA Radio Frequency Register website for it.

The ACMA listings available to the public have never been known to be terribly accurate, there have been numerous cases of known omissions before.

The Rebel/Breeze websites have also in the past advertised frequencies that are licenced but not yet on air (I’m sure their website used to show Gin Gin has having a translator too). Guess the only way to know if it’s on air for sure would be to visit the area (or maybe someone here might know?)

I’m getting a faint signal in Brisbane of the Breeze on 102.5. It is difficult to tell if it is from Mt. Goonaneman though as Tenterfield comes in on that frequency. Will have to wait for some enhancement from the north to check.

Awesome keep me posted. Are there ads playing or just music?

It was so faint that all I could tell was it was the same music as 92.1. Tonight, all I can get on that frequency is Tenterfield, with nothing from the north - will have to wait for a change in reception conditions.

C91.3 (and former 2MMM) morning presenter, Stuart Cranney, has passed away after a battle with cancer, aged 65.

I’m shocked & saddened to hear this news. It was always a pleasure to hear his bright & vibrant voice over decades of radio listening. He had a wonderful laugh. He will be much missed. Vale radio legend Stuart Cranney.

Oh no!! I was just thinking of posting what Cranney classic nine at nine would be with the current state of the world … very sad… I did not know he was sick…

Love listening to Rebel FM. Reminds me of the old Red FM sound when they were just rock.

Tried finding a streaming link for Lithgow’s 2LT. I used to listen to it when once living in the blue mountains, from when it was Radio 90 in 1987 to mid 1990s when it turned into another common as muck “greatest songs of all time” station. Must have been when they tossed their vinyls, as their song selection had decreased an awful lot. Wanted to tune in and find out what kind of music they were playing today, but could not find any links for tuning in through the internet.

I believe now they’re owned by Midwest Broadcasters, but most impressional memory was a total on air screw up around the weekend of Sat 23rd Sun 24th Dec 1989. Can’t remember his last name, but Warren was doing the morning shift when about two or three records in a row skipped like mad, distinctly remember Reggum’s I was only 19 being one of them. They must have played vinyl live to air in those days… oh yeah… what fun that must have been.

You can stream on their website - theres a link to the stream embedded to the homepage, just click “listen now”

They are 90% a 2GB relay, with local shifts 5:30-9am & 3-6pm. These local shifts are music based with a “classic hits” format similar to the one heard on 2BS. I think its just hits from the 60s-80s from my very limited listening once or twice for about 15 minutes.

2LT is now local until 8pm. However, the 6-8pm slot is locally automated after live & local programming is finished at 6pm.

@anonymousbroadcaster, 2LT can be picked up into Sydney on 101.1FM from the Blue Mountains if you’re lucky enough to get it.

Reminds me of a trip to Alice Springs in 1987, when during the evening on 8HA, Angry Anderson’s “Suddenly” kept skipping at the same spot in the song. After 20 seconds the song was stopped and the announcer apologised and joked that it was the extended version.
