They need each other but probably in SCA’s interests to try and play down that fact and go in with a lowball offer. This likely has last minute deal written all over it.
Yes, because I’m sure 10 is not aware that SCA needs it’s programming to survive.
The deal will be struck at fair value - like when a house sells: for what it’s worth
That’s a really poor example, fair value represents a measure of an assets worth not the price of an asset in a marketplace
Fair value also has a very specific definition - your example is market value
Ok sorry
Probably be the same situation as last time when a 10 deal wasn’t announced until late May/early June.
Even late-June and early-July for some regions! TDT was only signed in the hours leading up to the swap and nobody was sure whether that had left enough time or not and WDT was off for a few days from memory.
In this case everyone knows SCA has to affiliate with 10, so they can both begin preparing now, although there’ll be limits to what work they can do together until the contract is signed.
WIN could just change to generic Network 10 branding instead.
Yes, I can’t see 10 making WIN promos just for Northern NSW.
Promo versioning is a relatively simple process, parts of it automated.
No promos are made for WIN
One promo is made.
Automated systems then version it out adding different audio tags, graphic and bug tags.
Adding an “on WIN” and WIN bug version is very fast simple and automated in the output.
If there is a larger scale 10 logo animation, again. It just needs to be re-rendered as a WIN version. The set up which they already have.
Versioning promos with alt audio or bugs is a relative non issue. Even with the huge amount of promos a network outputs
Here’s a thought, and pure speculation like most of this forum page…
Could SCA sell/gift their licenses to BAI, just to get out of TV, I mean they do all the TX for SCA…
Then BAI does a deal with 10 for content and sales…
Could Qantas launch non stop flights from Canberra to Honolulu?

Just ask ScoMo. ![]()
Gee, I’d love to know what this magical automatic software is.
Avid & Pro Tools

Nothing automated about them.
Pro Tools & Avid can be set with timelines, bugs, end tags and audio tags in place with the same templates used day in day out. Not automated you’re right, but very streamlined. Slates and key number generation and shipping can all be automated.
Nothing in Pro Tools (audio editing) nor Avid are automated. They ALL require human intervention to get stuff done.
You’re right that templates can be, and are, used and they greatly speed up the editing process… but versions for affiliates are still required to be made without a magic computer spitting them out.
ScoMo has just checked with is office, his media team, his social media crew, the Honolulu tourist board, Qantas, his driver, the tea lady, the people who do his shredding and the bloke who mows the grass on parliament house roof…Knows nothing about it!
Yeah I know, but the speculation on this forum is very entertaining…
