“0 Melbourne, you’ve done it again”?

It’s a shame that 0 isn’t an available LCN on our DVB-T platform.

One for community TV, or a Network 10 channel maybe.

To be honest, I was quite surprised the Charles Ingram saga wasn’t ranked higher given the publicity it generated in the UK.

TV Scene report from August 1977 on a power outage that took ATV0 off the air during the Sunday night movie, The Priest’s Wife on Sunday 21 August. The emergency back up also failed, and it was over an hour before transmission was restored.

No mention of the other channels being affected even though they also broadcast from Mt Dandenong, so it might just have been 0 that was bumped off air.

How wrong those complaints about The Late Show would turn out to be further down the line.

A reunion event was held last night at the Fraternity Club for past and current employees of WIN4 to celebrate the station’s 60th anniversary.

Plenty of great clips featuring some of the station’s productions pre aggregation can be found on their Facebook page. The local Tonight Show, Migrant Education Television content produced at WIN and aired by the station, local “Suntastic” beauty quests, advertorials and clips from local Telethons including one from “Colorthon” that launched colour TV on WIN in 1975.

thank you for pointing this out, that’s the rest of my afternoon sorted  I remember seeing You Say The Word which Channel 10 played on Sunday mornings. I remember it had a young Paula Duncan in it. The clip featured there mentions an actor called Noel but they didn’t have a surname. I think it might be Noel Brady Noel Brady - IMDb. It looks like the same guy getting busy with Anne Charleston playing a prostitute in a failed pilot called Two-Way Mirror :stuck_out_tongue: https://youtu.be/qRrs3-Bfmag?t=115 (NSFW)

I must be old. I remember watching all but one of those newsreaders. Mary Franks has barely aged at all.

How long was South Park on 9 for?

If I am correct, Nine started airing the show on GO! shortly after the launch on Saturday/Sunday nights. Nine already had the film since around 2002. However, SBS remained first run rights, but it was similar to SBS/10’s deal where both networks can air whatever seasons they want, which meant episodes could be aired on two networks within weeks.

If I am correct, both SBS and Nine refused to air the Season 9 episode “Bloody Mary” replacing the episode with another, in fact the same episode.

What year did the show leave GO! though?

I remember seeing this one but from the screenshots it looks more like how to plug your VCR in properly.

With the Seven news department moving out of Martin Place at the end of this year, it will sadly mean the end of live performances in the studio as we know it.
