Bingo! Picked it up off eBay. Not my original one of course, who knows where Mum and Dad have stashed that one…

Haha. I have one of those and for some reason can’t part with it - not sure why not!

I’d understand if it was for sentimental reasons.

Back of my head says it will be worth something to someone one day…

You never know. I picked up this one for memorabilia reasons. If I can find my own, that one will be for sentimental reasons - my teddy bear growing up, one of three, was a Big Dog. The other two was a standard bear and the other was Big Bird.

I’ve still got my two teddies that I had from a baby - Mr Happy and a Humphrey B. Bear… I still remember my amazement as I got older and went to my Nan’s place down in Tas TV territory when I found out Humphrey had his own TV show! I was from Fat Cat territory when I was allowed to watch it because my mum hated it for some reason… never have found out why.

NBN had Humphrey B. Bear as well for a while, they borrowed him from NWS-9 when they owned them.

And they had Buttons as another mascot in the late 70s too.

They’ve had a few of them.

Could’ve brought back Buttons and kept Big Dog - a cat and dog combo.

They could have gone for a whole farm, they already had the cat, dog and bear… why stop there!

Not sure if this has been posted before. When Rage repeated a 1973 GTK episode on The Rolling Stones in Australia it included the start of 3 of the Sydney news bulletins for 8/2/1973.

This starts at about 4:10

Captures from my copy of it.

In checking the date in The Sydney Morning Herald for the next day it has a story on industrial action by 400 Sydney and 300 Melbourne commercial TV workers had ended and they had agreed to return to work.

with the news today of the passing of Lorrae Desmond at 91, here is a clip I just came across on YouTube where she featured in an episode of Entertaining With Kerr, produced by Harry M Miller for TEN10, Sydney, and the Independent Television System (now Network Ten).

Was this a day time show for the housewives at home?

Seems to be a bit all over the place…

e.g. ATV0 showed it in prime time

But SAS10 in daytime

First ever Rove; noting the new 10 logo on the clip.

NFSA always watermarks with the current logo, although there will be heaps there now with the old Ten logo on it. I can’t see them re-doing them :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, was it 20 years ago this month? There was the Channel Nine series Rove in 1999 and Rove Live as it was began on Ten in 2000.

The watermarks would be as part of the conditions which allow the NFSA to put footage online, wouldn’t it?

Correct, started on nine in 1999 and moved to ten in 2000.

It’s currently the 22nd anniversary.
