Humphrey taking out the competition? He was seen with the body.

Also, Blue Heelers’ ratings had started to decline after the year 2000, and the reason Sportsworld copped the axe was due to constraints associated with Seven also securing the FTA rights to the Supercars (previously held by Ten) at the same time.

Today’s Two of Us column in Good Weekend magazine in The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald features TV producer PJ Madam and husband, documentary maker Tim Noonan. PJ was once an entertainment reporter on Sunday Night on Seven, and met Tim when they were both working on the show in 2013. In 2016 and 2017 PJ and Tim filmed an 8-part reality show called Extreme Engagement, travelling around the world for a year, learning about marriage from the most remote places of the world, and visiting different cultures, learning about how marriage is regarded there. The series premiered on Netflix in 2019.

I may have previously mentioned the long-gone Melbourne-based entertainment magazine A-Z around here before. It was a pocket-sized freebie available each fortnight at record shops and covered music reviews, gig guides, TV, radio, pub bands, comedy shows, movies, etc. It was published between 1982 and 1985 but I only discovered it in its last 12 months.

One of the feature articles in the 20 December 1984 issue was an on-site visit to see the workings of Good Morning Australia. While a Sydney-based show it had a significant input from the ATV10 team in Melbourne with live crosses, etc.

(The “Blah” referred to in the opening sentence would be a reference to the magazine’s Blah Blah Blah column which was just random dot points of trivia, entertainment news, quotes from famous people. So it must have given him a shout out in an earlier edition.)

ABC TV Canberra’s channel change from VHF 3 to VHF 9 in July 1995 understandably caused issues/confusion for some… But the confusion with WIN (due to their affiliation with Channel Nine) is one that made me chuckle.

(from ‘The Canberra Times’ Mon 10 July 1995 via Trove).

There would have been a few of those confusing mismatches around the place post-aggregation, and indeed Canberra had that with the 10 affiliate being in 7 there.

I remember watching rugby league on Channel 7 in Rockhampton once and thinking that was a bit odd.
