Sometimes that only lasts so long though…

The same thing happened when filming for Blue Heelers wrapped for the 2005 season.

Eventually, a shortened final season aired in 2006, but instead of airing on Wednesday nights it moved to the lower-rating Saturday night timeslot; the first episode that season went head to head with Ten’s coverage of the Essendon vs Sydney Swans AFL match and The Bill on the ABC.

Just one question, where ido you live?

I ask because where I live in the Hunter region NSW it aired at 8:30pm on Sunday 4 June 2006 as a 2 hour finale (Sydney TV guide below courtesy of www.televisionau.com).

Yes, but would you sit through something like The Wizard Of Oz if it lasted for 180-200 minutes instead of 100 minutes if it looked at the matrimonial relationship between Aunt Em and Uncle Henry or whether there was a “relationship” of sorts between Dorothy and Hunk ( farmhand and scarecrowe)

I wonder if Seven’s success with All Saints somehow influenced Nine’s change of direction for Stingers?

If I had never seen it before and just found out about the film? I don’t know.

and ironically the Bill. they moved it from a crime focus to a soap and it killed it too - even i stopped watching the bill after that and it was essential viewing for me and my mum on a sat night for years

I remember Seven moving Full Frontal from Thursday to Monday for its final season in 97.

they also used this into the 1980s. I remember it being on the end of Wombat, Now You See It, early episodes of A Country Practice and Wheel Of Fortune. From memory they stopped using this logo in the mid to late 1980 around the time or not long before they rebranded as Australian Television Network

I think this must’ve been one of Matthew O’Sullivan’s last voiceover promos for Seven before he crossed to Nine not long after. Here, Seven’s expanded AFL coverage (having won the FTA broadcasting rights for the 2012-16 period in April 2011) is being promoted.

Need some guidance (unsure what thread I should have asked this on).

Ive come across a lot of tapes with late 1980s and 1990s RAGE clips, and MTV Australia and The Noise.
Are those clips important ? I know copyright can be an issue - so is Internet Archive the best place to put them up. Is there a ‘Rage’ expert on here. Need guidance on what to do once I start digitising those excerpts on tapes. Rhett

There is a lot of interest in old music video shows like Rage, MTV Australia, Video Hits.
For Rage stuff @ragetop50 is knowledgeable but don’t check the email address provided often. I eventually got their personal email address when they responded to my query.

As for YouTube it is best not to bother, the Internet Archive and Odysee (I have a bunch of music videos uploaded already) are better for web facing sites but still don’t escape the broken American copyright system.

For old charts australian-charts.com goes back to 1988.

I loved Front Up with Andrew L. Urban. I loved the interview with people in the street - it captured real Australia
