Commonwealth Bank’s decision to charge the $3 withdrawal fee will have affected people living in regional areas the hardest. If there is no CBA branch in their nearest town, the only way to withdraw a substantial amount of cash is via a post office.

I’ve finally reached 1000 hours as an RSPCA QLD volunteer,it’s taken me 18 months.I’ll get another badge soon and an email from one of the girls in the volunteer office,
The next milestone will be 2000 hours ,that should take me another 18 months to reach.

I feel that by volunteering I’m not just accepting a handout from Centrelink because I’m unable to work anymore.
Of course if a suitable part time job becomes available for me I’d take it ,I would still like to earn some extra money,but not as an Uber driver or deliverer.
If I do decide to look for work again I can ask one of the girls in the volunteer office to write me a reference,and to mention all the different jobs I’ve done for them as a volunteer.
My age is against me though

OK I know this one gets a lot of airtime on Top 40 radio stations, but does anyone here know why Charli XCX decided to name her 6th studio album this?
In a recent interview with Billboard, the “360” singer and her creative director explained the process behind the album cover. It actually existed before any of the songs on the record did. During her Billboard interview, Charli scrolled through her texts all the way back to March 16, 2022. That was the day that she said to her friends, “I think it should just be one word on the album cover… Maybe it should be called ‘brat.” She didn’t actually start writing the album until six months later in Mexico City, but used the title as inspiration for the attitude she aimed to encapsulate in the music.

I really feel sorry for anyone who’s trying to find an affordable rental property these days.A fellow RSPCA volunteer,a single guy who’s almost 70 and receives the aged pension,is currently renting half a house,pays close to $300 a week,.The house is split into 2 flats, and is now up for auction after the owner,who used to live in the adjoining flat,passed away last year .
It’s situated on a main intersection,shops walking distance and a bus stop close by,handy for someone who doesn’t own a car or drive like him .Sometimes I offer him a lift home as he’s on my way from the RSPCA.,when I drive there.
I hope for his sake that when the property is sold,it definitely will be ,the new owner will keep him as a tenant,he’s a very quiet guy and has been living there over 12 years.
If he’s allowed to stay there his rent will probably be increased or worse,the whole property will eventually be demolished as it’s a very old home,and a new fancy unit block will go there instead.
He did have a public housing unit years ago but he gave it up when he moved to his current home.,
