My niece and nephew have everything you possibly can imagine in terms of toys and games, so I have opted to get them. My brother and his wife do demand we buy presents only from certain stores. Like anything that’s not purchased from $120 and up stores will be thrown out. Last time I bought them a book (an educational one) and I bought it from the ABC Shop. Their response
“Too liberal, too lefty. Not good.” so they ended up burning it in front of me.
Given COVID-19 situation and limited funds this year, i won’t be sending any gifts to anyone back home in Australia.
Money is a little tighter for me this year, so I’ve actually been more restrained with my gift buying. Plus my friendship circle has gotten a little larger, so as more people come in, everyone gets a little less on their gift.
