Not to forget The Hit List with Matty and Renee, later Timmy and Renee, that ran on the SC Media stations at the same time but then was canceled for the Hot 30 to run instead after the merger of SC Media and Austereo.

I still belive it could still work today as the all the SCA stations are now Hit, so it could fit in well.

The Hit List was also a personal favioute as I grew up listning to it and I belive was the peak of the SC Media / SCA time as they not only had the Hit List on radio but also on TV with other cross colbrations like The Hit Rater TV and Landed Music.

Before that on Sea fm it was the Fat 30 with the Big K and Renee, I use to flick between Sea and 2day’s Hot 30.

I was surprised Renee did not go onto metro.
Funny watching that video clip, you could think the show ended today. All those songs are on high rotation on the Nova / Hit networks.

IIRC wasn’t there also ā€œAge & Reneā€?

That sounds right too.

The same in Hobart we had for a while The Hit List on Sea FM and the Hot 30 on 7HO FM.

The Scedule during that time between Sea FM and 7HO FM was always intresting as one station would take alot of the metro Austereo stuff and the other would have the SC media content, for Eg:

4 - 6: The Benchwarmers (Sea FM) - Hamish and Andy (7HO FM)
6 - 7: The Hour of Power (Sea FM)
7 - 10: The Hit List (Sea FM) - The Hot 30 (7HO FM)

Sometimes 7HO FM would run some other Austereo shows after The Hot 30 like Choose the Hits Jelli.

I think Age and Renee was on the Hot/Star DMG regionals, not Sea (RG Capital) as they were separate networks back then.

Wasn’t it called just ā€œThe Listā€ back then as well?

A 91fm presenter has just announced that the gift for the writer of letters that has been read on-air on the evening love letters program would receive a phone recharge card of 100k VND (AU$ 6.53) as opposed to 50k VND (AU$ 3.25). This is not a sweepstake, anyone send a letter to a program that has come to being read on-air would receive that prize.

91fm has running this prize for a few months beginning from July 2020. They revived that in May 2022 and has continued to running that ever since.

If K&J were to leave the airwaves in Sydney, which FM station do you think would take the number one spot?

I’d predict 2Day would reformat and quickly throw Mike E and Emma at Breakfast to lure KIIS listeners across.

Nova96.9 would likely leave Fitzy & Wippa in order to try and gain the heritage FM show status.

No the other way around, Renee and the Big K were originally on Sea fm Gold Coast / Central Coast. By the time RG Capital purchased DMG Regionals the Big K had left the show, and it was then Renee and Age. Their show was added to Hot / Star once these stations became part of RG Capital.

I’m noticing how dance and club music is dominating the music charts in Australia, UK and Europe. It has a lot to do with the popularity of Tik Tok and how this type of music is used by participants.

It’s taking a while for radio to jump on board and add these tracks to playlists. Might be a good time for the hit stations to consider having a Club type show for Saturday or Sunday nights where they play a lot of new and upcoming tracks, not currently on their playlist or outside the Top 50.

KJO at NOVA I could see, it’s a smaller company with a Murdoch at the helm, he’d probably have more air there.

Earlier tonight 91fm played ā€œBad Dayā€, which is a quite common song for you guys on radio, but considering that radio stations in Vietnam only occasionally plays English music, and mostly are ā€œHot ACā€-styled, the playing of Bad Day really surprises me because I haven’t heard that song on radio for a long time.

Also surprising that this song is played from 91fm Hanoi (this type of song would rather be common at 91fm Saigon instead)

Currently on the Gold Coast 41 floors up in Southport and naturally I’m testing out the FM reception. There is a temporary licence on 101.7 transmitting from Pit Lane at the Gold Coast 600 providing race commentary. Antenna height 10m ERP 25w

I thought I got something on that the other day, down Ashmore way. I’d presumed it was just a car FM transmitter or similar as it faded quite quickly and ABCFM Southern Downs started coming in over the top. Thanks for confirming what it was

In the 2011 FM spectrum planning for Vietnam, Radio Hanoi, as well as VOH in Saigon was granted three FM frequencies (as opposed to only 1 in other provinces/cities). For the Radio Hanoi case, they would got 90, 96 and 98.9 FM.

However, the biggest crisis in Hanoi Radio-TV’s 68th anniversary are ridden their radio division. Right now only 90 FM is on the air, with 96 FM already off-air with no warning for 2 weeks, while 98.9 FM is off the air for more than 2 months. The On 365FM team, which broadcasted on 98.9 FM since April, is under limbo because they may have to permanently become online-only by streaming on vtvcab.vn (although few programs are, since today, networked to 103.1 TĆ¢y Ninh FM). I have a feeling that Radio Hanoi are under the way of surrendering those licenses (except 90 FM, which is the capital’s news and traffic station).

On 365FM is a radio network, that, basically, have a format that resemble commercial, Regional Australian AM stations, but somewhat adjusted to fit with FM broadcasting standard, broadcasting programming that ranged from specialist all-talk programs (such as dealing with legal procedures and health/sex advice) to nostalgia or gold-based AC music programs, and a Hot AC-oriented music show. The channel is the successor of 365fm and 91.com.vn radio network, created in 2016 by former employees of 91fm in response of new management’s reform of the latter’s programming.

I liked this tagline that WSFM used tonight on it’s ā€˜Totally 80s’ weekend.

ā€œSongs that we taped off 2SM and bought at Brashs in Pitt Stā€

Memories.
