On the ARN website they feature 4BH more prominently than other opposition Brisbane stations - almost encouraging clients to advertise between either KIIS97.3 or 4BH.
So I noticed that a group in Brisbane has decided to relaunch the Stereo 10 brand as an Online station https://www.stereo10.net
(Which seemed to take them 2+ years to launchâŚ)
They seem to have quite a few sponsors/partners & supporters, including The Super Radio Network?
I wonder if this is true or they are just trying to seem bigger then they are.
They are a bit odd however as they made a big thing about the playout they were using (StationPlaylist) even going as far as censoring the post and the image to not let people know what the where using
.
Sorry for the double post, but on my travels around the interwebs I also found another more oddball station called STAR107.8 - Albury/Wodonga.

Apprently they have a FM license â107.8 FM FM Transmission From Red Light Hill via Studioâs - Site Linkâ and are running RCS ZettaâŚ
Source
A few currious things about this,
- The claim they have the 107.8 frequency but ACMA doesnât show any licences alowcated.
- Thay say the are running RCS Zetta but after some reserch into the guys running it, they seem at a high school age at best which I very much doubt have the money to purchase RCS Zetta.
- The on air playout runs LiSTNR ads and they run full blocks of ads they I HIGHLY doubt sponsor them, I have heard for example Harvey Norman and Baby Bunting to name a few.
I would say that they are trying to come across as the old SCA Star FM The Border
My guess is BOG probably donated equipment.
Hopefully it wasnât software.
I wouldnât imagine Bill will would be wanting to involve himself with an online station given the fact he didnât stream himself
They have had it running on and off for a number of years and looking at the website it is still the same it always has been and the same crew running it.
I guess 4BH also has the Frank Walker ads nowđ ,if they have more ads these days they probably do

Who remembers on the now-defunct Hot30 Countdown on 2DAY FM (then hosted by Kyle and Jackie O) that there would be a segment where listeners could ârate the musicâ? From memory it occurred about halfway through the countdown, and whichever of two songs got the most votes would be played again the following night up against a new one.
One song in particular I know that went on a good run was A1âs âCaught in the Middleâ.
Ah yes, when nightly countdowns were somewhat meaningful if a bit repetitive.
Top30/Hot30 were common, but others that I remember from the late 80s/ early 90s were âTop 8 at 8â (NEW FM), âTop 9 at 9â (2NX before they went Classic Hits). Triple M Sydney had âThe Rock Pollâ.
2Day FM also did have a nightly Top 20 around 1989, canât recall who hosted that.
Sun FM ran a âtrash it or stash inâ
I think ARN metro stations are the only ones to have never had a nightly countdown.
TTFM used to have a countdown called Melbourneâs most wanted which was hosted weeknights by AndyG before they switched to the Mix era of love songs and dedications.
lmao, that made me remember of âMTV Most Wantedâ of VOV-3 in the late 1990s, before turning into love songs and letters Quick and Snow Show.
It moved to 91fm in November 2009 after 8 months of hiatus (I think Xone has something to blame for), and abruptly ceased airing in 2014 for unknown reasons. The Quick and Snow duo did reunion for 20th anniversary of the program in 2019.
what happened to Andy Grace? I know he was early on the podcast thing - was one of the first after the daily source code. could have been the first aussie to podcast
Edit cos I was thinking of Andy Grace. He has a software company that allows live streaming from mobiles and other portable devices.
I think it might have been Nick Bennett in 1989 until Malcom Paul took over in 1990 when 2day fm relaunched with their All New All Hits CHR format.
Malcom Paul was up against Mobbs and Fletch, originally from New fm who were #1 on 2MMM nights. I think Triple M was also doing a Rock 30 countdown too from memory.
Went up to Coffs this weekend and overnighted at Gloucester on Friday.
Bucketts Radio 104.1 is not on Kia Ora Hill with the others; itâs still transmitting from the studio building (the old theatre) in town. Coverage is basically like an LPON and only usable within 10 km of town. Had a good chin wag with the station manager who happened to be on air on Saturday morning; he got a Braidwood FM fridge magnet and I scored the same from Bucketts. They are hoping to get on Kia Ora Hill in the near future.
No RDS on 2RE 100.1 or Max 103.3. Poor quality audio (like a bad mp3 stream) on Max 103.3. The main services on 88.9/107.3 were received with RDS, so are these translators needed now?
Breeze 97.7 was received quite well south of town with patchy reception as early as Limeburners Creek (near the Pacific Highway). I guess it gets down the valley through Stroud etc. RDS is âBreeze97â.
A couple of videos on the dxnerd86 YouTube page if youâre interested. Nothing much to report on the Coffs leg of the trip and there wasnât any tropo there either. I did go to Bellbrook (home of Slim Dusty) west of Kempsey on Saturday; reception down there was surprisingly OK with all of the local majors at reasonable strength, even 2BBB was pretty good. Armidale was there on the hills.
Actually looking back at the history of 2day fmâs Hot 30 Countdown many of their shows were cancelled due to controversial pranks that went wrong.
I think around 1994 David Rymer was suspended from 2day fm when he pranked an HSC school girl who got a 100 ter in her HSC. He told her there was a mistake with her results.
The show eventually got cancelled and was replaced by Ugly Philâs Hot 30. That show was controversial too with critics saying the show was in bad taste. I think the show ended when Ugly Phil and Jackie Oâs marriage broke down.
Then it was Kyle and Jackie Oâs Hot 30. followed by Tim Lee & Biggsy after Kyle & Jackie O moved to Breakfast.
Then the Summer Hot 30, and the Royal Prank ended the Hot 30 Countdown for good.
Thatâs interesting re audio quality on MAX, I hadnât noticed that previously, I would have thought theyâd both (and now 2RE) be fed off air from Gangat.
Yes Breeze reception isnât too bad down the Bucketts Way, Stroud was where it started to become listenable for me heading up.
Yes, hopefully 104.1 gets on at Kia Ora, though 2Day will probably prevent me from DXing it from Newcastle.
And Iâm guessing there was no sign of Rebel on 93.7?
