Star 104.5 are obviously using voice-tracking this afternoon. No mention of the lockdown in the last two hours, and the announcer just said this (or something similar):
“Hey Coasties, hope you’ve got some good dinner plans tonight. We’re playing more music variety to get the party started…”
I wonder with the new voip systems we have, I find there is a lag, it really affects talkback radio in my view. I heard two calls on Steve Price’s show on Triple M. I wonder if it Triple M end. It feels like the callers were talking over Steve. I just recall the lag factory was not there 20 - 30 years ago. Maybe a mobile phone call the voice would cut out, but not so much of a lag. From my memory anyway.
I do detect using VOIP in general if you are having a conversation sometimes it will lag. If say everyone one is using say “teams” or zoom it is generally fine, unless someone rings in using a mobile, or landline the lag seems to be 5 times out of 10 be there.
Anyway there doesn’t seem to be any greater consistency today making talkback a bit more problematic.
thats my experiance too. That might be a few years ago when i was on “World Have Your Say” on the BBC Worldservice they wanted to use Facetime rather than anything else
Like many AM stations in the US now, WGNS has FM translators
WGNS Operations Manager Scott Walker told Radio Ink, “We were excited to be asked if a film crew could shoot a movie in our studio about AM radio. While we of course have our faithful FM translators –
I thought I’d get a break from all the ,Yap,yap ,yap on Triple M in the mornings while the regular breakfast team of Marto and Margaux are on holidays.Wrong!
They’ve had a winter breakfast team instead, last week and this week (including Ben ‘Dobbo’ Dobbin ,the sports guy,) so more ,yap ,yap ,yapping, especially about rugby league
From tomorrow I will listen to my own tunes as the guy I usually work with who wants the radio on will be working elsewhere
Dobbo has his own show on Resonate Regional Radio and constantly interviews anyone and everyone about Rugby League. Plus he has a semi regular Broncos segment on Nine News.
Anyone in Sydney that still has an AM Stereo radio wanna check something?
There’s a guy posted in The Radio Green Room on Facebook that 1224kHz (2RPH) Sydney is transmitting AM Stereo this morning, I highly doubt it, but you never know?
I think the 2RPH translator at Kings Cross is only Mono, their Newcastle translator is only Mono, so that’s why it surprised me that 1224 would suddenly be in AM Stereo.
