Yes I’ve uploaded the Highland FM one to my YouTube channel. It’s a few years old now:
When I am listening to Z100 New York on iHeartRadio I always get a kick out of when at the top of the hour they play “From the top of the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING ZEE One Hundred”
Similarly WCBS FM.
Or some LA stations - from the top of Mt Wilson etc. Also like the 100,000 and 50,000 watters.
I can remember in 2001 in Auckland hearing on Newstalk ZB at the top of the hour going into the news “From the top of the Auckland Sky Tower. This is Newstalk ZB”.
TTFM used to do similar on the top of the hour. I don’t know the exact wording but it something to the effect of… “From the top of Mount Dandenong, broadcasting around Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula and around the West Coast, this is TTFM”
In more recent years, the Capital Radio Network Forever Classic stations did the same.
2GN: From the top of Mount Gray.
2CA: From the top of Black Mountain.
2XL: From the top of Mount Kosciuszko
3GG: From the top of Mount Baw Baw
With the exception of the Canberra DAB service, none of those stations transmitted from those places .
I’m not sure what 6IX used.
TTFM was part of Melbourne the weak KIIS Sydney wannabe is a sad replacement these days.
For the oldies stations.
The slogan the “Greatest hits” seems to be gaining in popularity. Triple M uses a form of it. 2UE uses it as well as 2ST.
Is the “classic hits” slogan becoming less trendy again ? I remember the Classic Hits/Hits & Memories was the go in the mid 80s and early 90s then it was the best songs of all time, then back to classic hits.
For the more modern formats, better Music and more of it was big with 2day FM in the 90s and made a come back on WSFM. The best mix is another trendy slogan (for “adult contemporary stations”) from the 90s that has disappeared (in Sydney anyway).
From the top of the Darling ‘Scarp and all over Perth?
X107 Newcastle when it first went to air, and was then owned by Capital used: From the top of Great Sugarloaf this is X107.
You can’t go past Shortwave stations though for idents with frequency, power, location etc
I don’t remember that, but that’s not to say that it didn’t happen though.
I kind of wish 2CH was bought by Capital radio network. It would be “From the top of the Blue mountains to the Hawkesbury in the North and Port Hacking to the south this is Forever Classic 1170 2CH”.
Although Bob Rogers may have struggled to run a 30 minute music marathon.

Forgot the digital radio allocations.
Mix FM on the Sunshine Coast at the beginning of the breakfast show announce that “they broadcast from in studios in Maroochydore and broadcasting 5000W from Bald Knob to the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland”
as well as the fact that you can stream it online at iHeart Radio. Sorry about that!
