Is this song has a sophisti-pop feel?
āItās Not Overā is an even better example imo. A very fine track.
To me āsophisti-popā blends elements of smooth jazz with straight out pop.
An interesting article on BPR via Radioinfo:
Why Radio Stations Fail
An excerpt from the above article:
Now, there are some specific reasons why radio stations fail to attract an audience or lose an audience they once had. There are certain things that they seem to overlook, ignore or push aside, all the while leading them on the path to becoming just another sad piece of radio history.
Beyond the song, how about the cover art?
Great effort on the 1996 fashion, arty, edgy, nice continuation of 80ās design ideas.

Hello, SCA & Nova realised the error of your ways from 2016 - 2020 yet?

ACMA has today released its finalised FYSO for 2020-24: https://www.acma.gov.au/sites/default/files/2020-09/FYSO%202020-24.pdf
Coming up according to the above document:
- Develop and consult on proposals for LAP variations in Brisbane - October-December (Q4) 2020
- Develop and consult on a proposal to vary the Deniliquin LAP - January-March (Q1) 2021
- Develop and consult on proposals for variations to the Remote Central and Eastern Australia Radio LAP - October-December (Q4) 2020
And perhaps the most anticipating consultation paper to be released within the next few months:
- Consult on potential for replanning FM radio services in Perth, following the clearance of Band II television in Bunbury - October-December (Q4) 2020
Interesting. I wonder what proposals there are for LAP variations for Brisbane? Perhaps proposals from some of the AMs for FM translators like 4TAB has? Power increases?
I am keen on the Deniliquin LAP. I would like it to extend over the Border into Shepparton Area and the Area North. It might give SCA Hit and Triple M a run for there money with the only Commerical Station in the Shepparton Area.
And it will make it interesting as 2QN Breakfast presenter was on Triple M Goulburn Valley for a while
Given what Iāve heard about 2QN and especially Edge FM on these forums over the years (lots of criticism over the music playlist, staff turnover, etc.), I highly doubt much would change in the highly unlikely chance their listening area was extended to cover Shepparton and the Goulburn Valley.
Yes, SCA would strongly oppose any enroaching of the Deniliquin licence area into Sheppartonās.
Goulburn Valley is a big Area and I can defiantly see it atleast extend from Echuca to Shepparton then to Yarrawonga (which is classified as Murray Valley Area of the Goulburn Valley)
Most of the ACE stations can be heard well in the GV⦠As the same with the Shep stations can be heard well around Deni.
I would have the SCA stations any day over the ACE stations.
given the amount of data i have on my mobile if iām heading outside brisbaneās DAB coverage range i don;t even bother to switch on the broadcast bands anymore. i just put on a stream (be it Air1, KQED
or the NPR One App - depends on if i want news or music) and let it go
Iām afraid Iām the same. Once Iām out of range of Brisbane DAB (and Rebel/Breeze) I generally stream as well. Occasionally Iāll do RN on FM in regional areas or Rebel/Breeze where they exist but itās mostly streaming outside Brisbane - and itās not streaming Australian stations either.
Yep me as well. I donāt find any of the Australian stations appealing to me.
The problem with streaming at least in regional areas are the frequent dead zones in strong mobile coverage one encounters off the main highways. Even between Queanbeyan and Bungendore there is an extensive area of poor mobile phone reception that lasts for about 5 km. This results in a total loss of connectivity when streaming. Coverage is likely even worse east of Bungendore and especially down the mountain to Batemans Bay.
I used to cover some Shepparton news when i was Newsreader for Deniliquin
true, fortunately, most of my driving outside Brisbane DAB coverage is either to the gold coast or highway runs to Newcastle or Sydney so there are not too many dead zones
