Heavily dislike the current Prime News graphics. Though I’d have a go with a UK-Style branding revamp, with the News At Five as the new name.

I’ve taken your concept and tweaked it a bit for consistency:
But since the layout is almost identical to that of the SBS VICELAND logo, I reckon the “WORLD MOVIES” text in the real logo might end up being in a different typeface.
