Random Mocks

I still use Adobe Fireworks.

Adobe Fireworks? Never heard of that. I’ll have to check it out.

It’s now discontinued, but still functions well. I’ve never used it myself tho.

Keynote/PowerPoint is the best place to start. Fancy effects are pointless if you can’t put together something that is well laid out, correctly scaled and works conceptually. Both pieces of software are surprisingly capable these days.

I’ve also played around a bit with After Effects which is supposed to be the best software for this sort of thing but I’m still very much a novice so couldn’t offer much advice really beyond what you can figure out for yourself.

I said i wasn’t sure of the look I started for Ten News, so I decided to scrap it and continue to play. Here’s a look at a new supa for my new attempt…

looks rather nice. personally i would make the light blue line and box the same colour as the main text.

Your right, that looks better

oh. I can’t believe I was right! hehe. Yeah, it does looks better. I guess it sort of ties in more with the background of the “10” digit

if i’m honest, I actually preferred the first logo you made. I liked the box “news” was in. but a terrific job anyway

A quick re-design for 7:

Great work! Simple and no clutter! Reminds me of the previous Ten News package.

I LOVE that!

The typography looks a bit like the CBS Evening News. Looks good!
