I remember when this song used to frequently be played at Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs matches.
Well Iâm glad my Sharkies made your cut, i guess hearing âUp Up Cronullaâ on âThe Conga Lineâ would have been asking for too much!
What about Shark Attack Split Enz @Radiohead Edit: oops senior moment Billy Bob played that one. What I should of said Shooting Shark by Blue Oyster Cult
This one for the Dolphins
Anyway getting carried away with my song requests .
I played Live- The Dolphins Cry a few weeks back which was actually the inspiration for the theme. The Dolphins certainly made Les Dragoons cry last night.
Wow, billy, where did you dig that one up from. Iâm not a fan of this track, but my broadcast partner has searched the enths of the earth for this track and canât find it. he needs it for one of his 1992 countdowns.
Hey all, sad news today about Brian Wilson. Iâll be putting together a show tonight to comemorate both the Beach Boys and Sly and the Family stone. Not sure if Iâll be filling up the entire two hours, but weâll see. Again, time slot will be midnight to 2am on Sydney 2000 FM 98.5. Will post playlist soon.
Must admit I had to go to YouTube and even then, the quality wasnât great. But I donât think it will ever be played again!
Oh what a shame, I think he was hoping it would have been a lossless rip from physical media, but thanks anyway.

@anonymousbroadcaster I noticed you are on 7 days a week. I stopped recording it, itâs a shame I would have enjoyed you latest playlist. Is there a night when you do curated playlists? I donât think 2TripleO has listen again for your show. Mixcloud I donât think works for this show due to rules of having so many beach boys songs.
I am surprised that 2OOO doesnât have Listen Again; admittedly it requires paying a fee to the CBAA (who will set up their proprietary archiving system) or having a dedicated volunteer to archive things manually. I may be the only person doing archiving manually!
Listen Again is the way of the future for radio. Everything needs to be made available on demand these days, especially since most people are time poor and canât tune in at the same time each week.
Yes especially at 12am . I try to listen to your show live but work quite often gets in the way. I see it as a benefit of todayâs radio world, I can enjoy my favourite radio show whenever I want where 15 years ago I may not have listened at all ( or completely didnât know a show existed).
Speaking of which, Iâve just uploaded my show.

A awesome log there mate.
Above is my favourite Duran Duran song, a song I never get sick of.
Ditto. Itâs one of the rare songs that gets repeated with reasonable regularity on my show.
My friend is working on a project where he enters all four or five weekly charts of a month into a spreadsheet, and then works out the average charting performances for each track and then collates a monthly chart for each month. Where I do the exact week from my chart, heâll do the monthly charts based on the AMR / ARIA charts.
Both he and I only use lossless, as playing lossy over the air can sound pretty nasty. He recently attempted a chart from October 1992 and noted how hard of a job it is to locate that Ipswich Connection song. I personally havenât heard it. I probably didnât like it at the time, and probably today if I heard it again, still wouldnât like it. I vaguely remember him noting that heâll just skip it when it comes to that month.
We did upload shows to mixcloud last year, but I remember doing a tribute to Frank Ifield where mixcloud blocked that portion of that program. So I had to delete that section, and re-upload again.
Because of the late time slot and my general lack of radio interest today, I donât do too many showes anymore, however the inspiration for doing last nights show was the death of brian wilson. I wasnât really a fan of their sixties material, but fortunately they did release a bomb load of music in the 80s, and was fortunately enough to hear most of it on 2UW, both the old and the new, their eighties stuff just sounded way better and more cheery. There was more later era material I could have played, but wasnât sure if I wanted to scare listeners away from playing too much Beach Boys tracks.
As far as audio on demand, still looking at archive dot org. Speaking to some of the copyright places to see what the go is here. I may not be able to put this show up anywhere due to all the consecutive beach boys songs. I may just put a link up for a few weeks for people to listen to, then take it down again, I donât know. Anything is good in moderation, I think the copyright rules have just become too much of an over reach. In the end, it is what it is.
Today being Friday the 13th, I was thinking of doing an ultimate stink bomb songs show tonight on 2OOO, but what I think are stink bomb tracks compare to others may be controversial, so I decided to leave it. Lets say, EMI did put out a number of those 101 songs six CD box sets about 15 years ago. Just for fun, Iâve created my own, 101 stinkiest songs ever.

Itâs a shame theyâve stopped selling such discs⌠My favourite compilation series was this one..
Some real gems amongst the 6 double CDs that Iâve not seen anywhere else since the 80s (except maybe YouTube). Needless to say, I bought all 6 of them and would have happily kept buying them!
Most of these songs you have on the list mostly belong on the âSongs Lost to Radioâ thread.
I think I featured those compilations on my show a fair while back. There are some real gems in there.
@anonymousbroadcaster - agree with some on your list of turds but disagree with some others, as expected. I can tell youâre not a fan of grunge.
No certainly not. :), Iâve kind of pissed my friend off a little (in a nice way), as he loves his 90s rock (he is ten years younger then me), and disaggrees with quite a few of my selections.
2007 through to 2024 is pretty much the time period in which I digitized my entire music taste, (as of last week, 20,100 tracks) and having come passed these âturdâ songs along the way, I thought it would be a little fun to work this into some kind of concept, and the EMI 101 series was the first thing that came to mind. I already had 90% of these songs in physical form as part of other compilations, so it wasnât as if I had to go out and purchase these separately.
Around April 1998 2WS FM 101.7 went off on a bit of a tangent with Hans and Kayley. They allotted 50 of the songs they hated onto a wheeel, where each time they would spin, they would play the nominated track.
Yes, quite a few of my favorites were on there, so the entire subject of a jukebox from hell is pretty subjective, never the less Hans and Kayley did have a lot of fun that morning, and where the last of the good breakfast announcers before 2WS when through that whole changey kind of direction in the middle of 1998.
Agree, the mastering was abit hot, but the 70s sets have an absolute boatload of gems, tracks that came in so handy for reconstructing all of those Ktel compilations. Mainly because much of that australian material has never seen a CD release since the inception of the format back in the early 80s; many of these tracks saw a digital release for the first time in almost 40 years.
I do miss complications, imagine if they still existed, Billy Bobâs perfect pop songs volume 1. I would buy that .
