Hi Bianca, would there be a way to see the playlist from 4ak if possible
Who are you asking?
Iâm just asking in general if there Iâd a playlist for the 4ak 1242 Toowoomba
Oh, I was just confused cause I wasnât aware of a Bianca here.
Sorry I donât have a playlist for 4AK.
Ohhhh Brian! Okay now I see. I was wondering who Bianca was.
Me too

Hey gang,
Just wondering if anyone has any logs from the Regional Hit stations (known as Star/Sea/Hot FM back then) for 2007-14 ish.
Would be awesome if you could get any from the old mediaspy page as well (because we canât access that).
If anyone does it be much appreciated
Hereâs one I found from another forum that I (and a few others here) once frequented back in the day. Here are the playlists of the Hobart commercial stations from back in February 2008, including Sea FM. In those days, Sea FM & Heart 107.3 were owned by Macquarie Southern Cross Media (MSCM), whilst 7HO was (& still is) owned by Grant Broadcasters.

Hobart commercial radio was certainly a bit more interesting than what it is now, where you now have both Hit & Triple M having its music logs sourced from the mainland, whilst 7HO has become a bit more of a âTodayâs Best Musicâ-type station.
In 2008, Hobart had the best commercial radio stations in Tassie music-wise, but these days, that honour, at least on FM, would arguably go to the north of the state courtesy of LAFM/7SD & Chilli in Launceston/North East, as well as 7AD/7BU & Sea FM (which now carries the same log as 7HO) in the North West.
Back in the mainland at around the same time period, hereâs a couple from the Central Coast of NSW, covering Star 104.5 when it was a rock station, as well as 2GO. Sorry that I donât have a log of 101.3 Sea FM from that time, but with these two below, itâs still better than nothing.
Back then, Star 104.5 was owned by DMG (now Nova Entertainment), whilst 2GO & Sea FM were owned by MSCM.

Local commercial radio on the Central Coast was certainly much better back then, and also sounded more local too. These days, theyâre nothing to write home about, at least musically, with Star & Hit 101.3 now sounding quite similar to one another.
I spent some time listening to 4AM in Mareeba / Atherton online this morning.
Thought I would note what was played from around 9:45am to 11am
Genesis - In Too Deep
Delta Goodrem - Solid Gold
Disco Montego - Beautiful
Charlie Rich - Very Special Love Song
Beach Boys - God Only Knows
10am
John Paul Young - Love Is In The Air
Sara Keys - Picture Of You
R5 - All Night
Lynne Hamilton - On The Inside (Prisoner Theme)
Razor Light - America
Ganggajang - Sounds Of Then
Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour
Anna Waters - Every Need
DB Boulevard - Point Of View
Paul Davis - Do Right
Gin Wigmore - Too Late For Lovers
Whitney Houston - I Wanna Dance With Someone
One of the more eclectic music mixes I have heard in recent times (especially for a commercial station).
What do you think?
Admittedly, I had to use Shazam to get the title of some of the songs, although they were all back announced afterwards.
Itâs very hard to figure out the target audience - seems like they are aiming to please everyone.
Do HIT broadcast locally into the area, or are they on relay from Cairns?
The Atherton Tablelands does have its own Hit station on 97.9.
Also, 4AM does have a good signal into Cairns, coming in almost as clearly as a local, providing a decent alternative to 4CA, Star, MMM & Hit.
Listening to 4AM (and 4KZ) is a bit of a time warp. As you say, they are âall things to all peopleâ and air a fair bit of local content, even if a lot of it is voice tracked. I much prefer listening to these stations than the generic Triple M/BOG outlets.
Wow, I remember that. I would have only been about 10 at the time of that Star log, and I listened to it religiously. It introduced me to some great music.
By contrast, here is an example of Starâs current AC format. Itâs still the best commercial station on the Coast IMO, but it sounds radically different.

Not too bad.
But I always roll my eyes when a station plays âHit me with your best shotâ by Pat. She has so, SO many other fantastic songs⌠Sheâs chronically ignored by Australian radio. Not so in North America where youâll always hear a much broader range of her music.
Donât worry, they play âLove is a Battlefieldâ into the ground as well
I similarly get annoyed because âDonât You Want Meâ is the only Human League song you ever hear - never âMirror Manâ, â(Keep Feeling) Fascinationâ, âLove Actionâ, âHumanâ, etc.
But then again, this is by design. One of Starâs latest slogans is âSongs that you know from the very first noteâ.
as well as âWe Belongâ and âAll Fired Upâ
Iâm oneđ
Like âFire and Iceâ and âInvincible â never hear those songs
You do on The Billy Bob Show! And would go great on a drive show too, say on Friday
