The Outfield has been given a regular airing on The Mechie Show, but not so much now as I do believe that the show is transitioning to a mostly progressive rock format.
Really enjoyed the 1st hour, those Steve Winwood songs were great. I havenât listen to the 2nd hour yet. I am sure people would not keep running if they see you on streets of Braidwood. I donât mind a dash of 60s music.
How well does Braidwood FM get into Canberra? Can you get it on the coast? Which spot outside the licence area gets the best reception?
First heard it them because Your Love was popular on YouTube before he died.
1: Only on Mount Ainslie and Red Hill. Zero reception in most suburbs. It would be great to have coverage in Canberraâs suburbs but alas not to be.
2: Yes, comes in fairly well at certain spots on the coast like Huskisson and around Batemans Bay. Might make the most of the fine weather next week and go to Ulladulla to see how it fares there.
3: Coverage is quite good to the north; usable signal in Goulburn (actually better than Bungendore) and up to Penrose. Furthest north towards Sydney is probably the southern side of The Gib. On the coast, you can get it at Mount Pleasant Lookout above Gerringong. North of there itâs all Skid Row.
Thanks for the positive feedback; I am aiming to improve with each show. My announcing style is still a bit rough around the edgesâŚbut I aim to let the music do the talking
Happy Halloween! Smoothfm is playing these weird and unusual songs that you never heard for a long time.
Iâd be impressed if they dug out Edgar Winter- Frankenstein! That Oingo Boingo song is a real surprise to hear on Australian radio, especially from Smooth.
I donât know if this is a mistake or not but going by the follow log on Lava, it looks like Mix94.5 is taking the SCA Hit log between 12am to 5am weeknights.
Thereâs been conversations over on the âTriple M Networkâ thread hinting that Mix 94.5 is realigning with the Hit Network, whilst Hit 92.9 will realign with the Triple M Network, therefore rebranding to Triple M.
Noticed that a few months back. Think itâs a bug with the station going to networking overnight - weekend overnights seem to be fine?

With Triple M arriving in Perth from December 1, which will compete with 96fm, I thought Iâd look at how it compares with one another.
Letâs go with an assumption that Triple M Perth would take the same log as Brisbane & Adelaide, so letâs use that as a template.
104.5 Triple M - Brisbane, QLD

âEarly Warningâ Baby Animals
âHeavenâ Bryan Adams

âJust Like Fire Wouldâ The Saints
âBetterâ The Screaming Jets
âGoodbye Strangerâ Supertramp
âGold On The Ceilingâ The Black Keys
âThe Lady Donât Mindâ Talking Heads
âCome Back Before I Come Back To My Sensesâ Something For Kate
96fm - Perth, WA

âOld Time Rock & Rollâ Bob Seger
âFrom The Seaâ Eskimo Joe
âA Good Heartâ Feargal Sharkey
âHello, I Love Youâ The Doors
âGirls On Filmâ Duran Duran
âDreamsâ The Cranberries
A safe but alright playlist from 96. Better than the competition over at 94.5 Similar to Gold, really.
That Brisbane log is okay too. Not setting the world on fire, but its a good start. Nice too see them playing a new song (a pretty good new song too IMO - not my favourite, but has that good Something For Kate sound)
Thatâs a strong competitor if Triple M Perth takes those logs.

A safe but alright playlist from 96. Better than the competition over at 94.5 Similar to Gold, really
I agree with there with the above.
I would definitely have the Triple M playlist over the 96 playlist.
Given the discussion over on the âGrant Broadcastersâ thread on how much crossover there is between the CHR/Hot AC & AC stations in a fair number of markets, I thought Iâd look at a market where its stations run a CHR/Hot AC log (albeit one that is on a different log to the others) & a âClassic Hitsâ log.
Here are what the Grant stations in the Shoalhaven & Southern Highlands region of NSW are sounding like.
