I have nothing really exciting to do on New Year’s Eve, so I thought that I would do a log of Triple M Melbourne while listening tonight. They began something called ‘20 Countdowns in 20 Days’ today, with the ‘Top 165 Greatest Ever Party Songs’. They began this countdown this afternoon, and some interesting songs got a run during the day. These included Far Side of Crazy by Wall Of Voodoo and Greg! The Stop Sign by TISM. 
As I write this, Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger is playing.

At the same time, here’s something probably rarely done in the last few years, a station from the Wide Bay. I was going to do 4CA in Cairns but by the time I started streaming they went to a talkback show based around the Sydney Fireworks, which I’m sick to death of reading about.

Now for a bonus treat. For years I’ve been hopeful that I’ll be able to stay awake long enough to bring you a log from South Africa. This year I’m able to bring you a couple of hours from a Johannesburg station called Jacaranda FM (maybe later this year I’ll be able to give you a Durban station log when I’m over there in June). The station broadcasts in both English and Afrikaans, but given I haven’t understood Afrikaans in my visits I’ll stick to English. The station describes itself as playing hit music from the 80’s, 90’s and now. The log I’m bringing you won’t be seeing in the new year (that comes at about 9AM EDST), but is in a timeslot usually occupied by a show called “The Scenic Drive” usually running in the traditional 4-7 drive period.
