Radio Stations - Music Logs

So I went through the K-Rock tape I had from 20-odd years ago and have logged what is available of the entire 90 minutes the medium afforded me of their ‘Awesome 80s’ playlist from their Saturday nights at the time

FM 95.5 K-Rock - Geelong, VIC
‘Awesome 80s’ Saturday night - circa late 1990s (date unknown)

The Eagles – Hotel California
Quarterflash - Harden My Heart
Adam and the Ants – Stand and Deliver
Devo – Girl U Want
Kids in the Kitchen – Current Stand
Ray Parker Jr – Ghostbusters
Phil Collins – Invisible Touch
The Stranglers – Golden Brown
INXS – The One Thing
Kim Wilde – Kids in America
Thompson Twins – Doctor Doctor
The Members – Radio
Duran Duran – Girls on Film
Hunters and Collectors – When The River Runs Dry
Transvision Vamp – I Want Your Love
Fleetwood Mac – Go Your Own Way
The Go-Betweens – Streets of Your Town
Ultravox – Vienna
The Psychedelic Furs – Love My Way
The Vapors – Turning Japanese
The Flying Lizards – Money
U2 – Desire
Rick James – Super Freak

Apart from the fact that there’s no way in hell K-Rock would ever play any of those songs nowadays, what are the thoughts on an 80s playlist, especially given the era this was recorded in (the late 90s)? Apart from the fact that some of the songs aren’t from the 80s (Go Your Own Way was released in 1977), there’s actually a few great tracks in there. Adam and the Ants, the Thompson Twins number and Devo stand out, and make up for the presence of Kim Wilde and Ray Parker Jr for mine

It’s a great list for me! Especially Devo, and Quarterflash :).

Oh and back off with Kim Wilde LOL. I love her!

Hotel California and Desire are the only ones I don’t want to hear.

My dislike for U2 is growing ever more

Triple M Aussie Digital is launching tomorrow. Here’s what the station should sound like, imo:

(Don’t think they’ll fit more than 12 songs/hour in with the amount of ads SCA put on their DAB channels).

**Yeah, yeah- this ain’t rock, but they shouldn’t be afraid to throw in suitable non rock tracks.

Along with AC/DC (already 1/hour on Classic Rock) and Jimmy/Chisel. They’re banking on the listener having a Short Memory after all.

Working Class Man and You Shook Me All Night Long for the next hour? They might throw in a Crowded House tune, i’m half expecting the awful Straight Lines by Silverchair to feature as well.

IMO, Personally in terms of newer music I think Hit might have the edge just… But in terms of more music, Nova definitely plays a lot more than Hit, as Danny Lakey is certainly more centered around talk… Thoughts and Comments?

:poop: Just so repetitive.

I heard Rita Ora in the morning at 8.55am and then on the way home at 4.40pm and then on the way to the gym at 7.15pm.
I also heard Loud Luxury in the morning at 8.17am and a million other times this week.
