what i have been told is that with [Grant’s] top 40 stations there trying to mimic the hit network radio stations and moving there demographics to 36+ and above

They need to take another listen to the Hit network stations, they sound nothing like the Grant stations. They might have the odd 80s and 90s song but they generally still sound contemporary. The Grant stations just sound like a mess.

Let’s have a look at how the two compare. I’m taking an example hour from last week, as Hit were still on a different log to that of the metro stations, unlike this week.

First, Grant Broadcasters.

Of course, it’s worth noting that Grant’s Hot AC stations are competing with Hit in several markets around Australia, particularly in QLD, such as the Gold Coast, Cairns, Townsville & Mackay.

I’ll take the Hit log out of those two. The only song of note on the Grant log is Save Your Tears/The Weeknd. Love that one.
