@crankymedia Thanks for the update.
Is Vision on 87.6?
The site/freq entry is missing from their website, but ACMA list it as 87.6MHz from Mt Marlay [Stanthorpe] (Rebel site). There’s also an Adventist Church rego for 88.0 from same site.
Thanks for the work providing the extra RDS info for Nau & Yumi FM.
RDS looks to be very simple RDS provisioning, probably within TX itself.
As both of these Port Moresby FM radio stations are also nationwide radio networks I’m curious to know if either station on their respective outlets via RDS also transmitted AF info? If so, might contain helpful frequency info for dxers?
Unfortunately the AF was blank. Also note that the stations with no RDS were received at sufficient strength that it should have decoded.
I have to let you know next time I’m driving that way soon. Was night and three hours more driving to be done!
Thanks heaps @TV.Cynic for interesting & revealing snap shots of the New Caledonia RDS stations.
So for 90.0 la 1ere is it just that frequency or outlet that is using Dynamic PS?
Also appeared that for 90.0 same days ago when you posted many screenshots of la 1ere outlets that 90.0 had a static PS that differed from the others a little.
That is 90.0 PS of: la1ere
Where as others; PS of: la 1ere
Wish we had a way of identifying their common frequency outlets by unique RT or PS
BTW: What was the frequencies you snapped of: France Inter & la 1ere (at top of yesterdays screenshot posts?)
Sorry for all the questions, trying to get a good idea of the uniqueness of their RDS as a DX tool.
Keep up the good work
Inter is from 93.0 but also available on 92.5
90.0 is the only NC 1st station I received during that opening that had dynamic PS
The others were static. The screen shot is 91.5
We can email them and ask what TXs have no spaces in the RDS and what do to narrow it down a little?
Imagine if they received multiple emails from Australia about this? Their engineering dept would be agog.
I miss their AM 666 transmission, that was a constant at night and easy to null on a normal ferrite rod radio Canberra, Bilo & Mt Isa if you were east of them.
I miss them too on the MW & SW bands. I really loved their music.
The battle is finding someone with an interest in replying. Writing in French would be mandatory. I think a European engineering broadcast agency handles all or most of the broadcast-transmission operations in the French territories.
We went Birdie beach on the central coast today. Coast FM is sounding good. @RFBurns well done. My mum really enjoyed the music. Turned back to 2ch at Wahroonga and it sounded horrible (in comparison).
Anyway back on topic , wish the RDS had the song details.
Thanks for the complement, it’s great to hear people like it, a lot of work’s gone into the new music library, & subsequent logs after we installed Zetta, & I’ve put literally hundreds of hours into getting the processing to sound like that.
Song now & next on the RDS is coming, we’re just trying to work out how to do it, when presenters ingest their own songs/program into Zetta & may have a song name/artist labeled incorrectly or with some other personal file naming system, that could include a rude word, etc. which we don’t want to go to the RDS for public presentation.
I was hoping to have it sorted & on the RDS by Christmas, but I’ve just been too busy with other things & haven’t got it done yet.
Big opening to Victoria this afternoon. Unfortunately difficult for RDS because most frequencies had multiple signals.
Will keep checking but here is one PI change:
99.9 2SWR has joined the radio station community of stations with COVID19 messaging with a RDS RT display of:- Social distancing saves lives
RDS Document updated reflecting the Frequency swapping of Magic and The Edge Tauranga
Interesting is the fact The Edge has a PTY of News and Magic is Rock Music… Used to be Pop and Oldies.
Dare say the RDS change by their technician hastily made & only half done…
Did they change the PI codes?
Sadly my little digitech radio doesn’t show PI codes so couldn’t tell you
