Radio Data System (RDS)

Thanks for that.
Unfortunately still not completely back to normal.
Noted there’s no TMC data, RDS CT inaccurate, missing necessary RT+ Group Codes.
RT is stuck at the moment too :slightly_frowning_face:

BTW @Radiohead has RDS been reactivated on 88.9 2RE?

Doesn’t look like it

Nothing on either of the 2HD FMs also.

Thanks for the updates.
I think I’ll dump 2HD’s 90.5 listing into the Discontinued RDS listing, given that it’s been off since late 2023.

Its a shame, I was about two months too late in getting a TEF to see the details of it.

The 97.5 RDS only returned for a brief period last year as well.

I’ve found that with Triple J you need to open up the bandwidth to as wide as possible to get the RDS. Hitz at Bundaberg is another with a lower than normal input level and it is similar there as well - wide bandwidth works best.

Good idea, I’ll try that on 94.1, my TEF defaults to 236 kHz on the auto setting for 94.1 here.

Edit: Just tried and got the opposite result, would only appear with the bandwidth set to 133 khz or lower, nothing at all on the highest setting of 311 khz.

Does that mean the RDS input level is too high?

Wouldn’t surprise me, but I’m not in a position to check their signal with a spec. analyser at the moment.

Faith FM 80.0 near me in Waikiki has reverted their station description location back to Albury can’t remember who or how it was resolved preciously it’s been a big week in Perth with Rtr 92.1 Noongar 100.9 fixing their Rds PI codes then this little hiccup

Awesome! Thank you.

This isn’t anything to do with RDS, but everything to do with FM List database & their match of both RDS PI code, PS & frequency to their data as I recall. I think @AustralianAerial has assisted with these editing changes in the past for us.

:astonished: I’d have to go searching the thread again to recall. Hopefully the community will assist us again.

It has. :slightly_smiling_face: :tada:

Yeah I’m none the wiser as to why Faith FM comes up as Albury. It was previously the closest station in FMList on 88.0 with the FA1F PI code, but this is no longer the case.

I’m not familiar with the webserver plugins but perhaps it’s worth overriding the station information for 88.0, given it is impossible you’d ever receive 88.0 Albury in an Es or Tropo event?

88.9 2RSR again transmitting with Long PS in their RDS.

Discovered another unusual thing about the Today’s Country RDS… In 0,01 mhz tuning mode with auto bandwidth on, it will appear on only 94.03 and 94.17, but nowhere else…

Other stations with more typical RDS will only show RDS from about 0.04 mhz either side of the main frequency all the way through to 0.04 the other side

Anyone running a webserver having issues when running Station logoos OCE 1.3.0 non RDS local stations no longer displaying the station name in the main text are but still showing the logo and station location info in the bottom banner. I can’t remember if it was before or after I updated to webserver 1.3.5 and or updated from station logos OCE 1.2.3.

I did check one of my earlier backups webserver 1.3.2 and it also had an issue.

Also 80.0 Faith FM in Waikiki near me is off the air. Might have to go past the residence and see if the antennas still up on the roof.

Below is an example of a non RDS local station not showing its Vision FM Tag. If I modify the information in localstationdata.jsnon on the Web/logos/json folder it is reflected within the lower info bar and the manual logos are still loading

Station names for non-RDS stations never showed up in the top-left box next to the play button, if that’s what you’re referring to. That only shows the decoded RDS PS text.

Ok I stand corrected. I was convinced it did but unfourtunatly I don’t have any evidence to back it up. Thanks for that. I’ve been looking at the webserver screen to long with all these updates and GUI remodelling. Back in my cave I go he he

Here’s what it looked like with the old version:

My plugin works sporadically. Seems to be a tunnel issue as it works if I connect to the server directly on my home network.

100.7 Riverland Life FM are now transmitting a PI code… Of FFFF

FBi’s RDS seems to be completely gone again now.
