105.1 Triple M Melbourne running without their TMC equipment at the moment.
This just group 0A, 2A & 4A (CT), but Clock Time (CT) incorrectly configured, showing local time as 10 hours advanced of actual.
Noted the TMC equipment is now back online & hence the RDS back to full functionality & accuracy.
Maybe just a glitch with the weak signal ā the Christian station in the Illawarra (Pulse 94.1) has the Christian station in Sydney as its AF (Hope 103.2)?
Edit: I retuned it and it came back again ā so probably not a glitch?
Itās on backup tape after the storm early this afternoon. Still is last time a checked an hour ago. Only station that went offline. Might be something to do with that?
Testing out the new TEF server, this morning I was able to get an RDS decode from the Merinee transmitter.
Yes noted that too. At 0% BER at one stage.
Nice work getting your TEF online.
I noted on your webserver than both SEN & RPH both have RDS & have subsequently updated the Aus RDS List with these new entries.
Pulse 94.1 is back online, but the clock is off about 5/6 minutes.
I can only imagine this song is from their RSR Jukebox program.
Iāve never seen live song artist/title RDS RT from them.
Was able to successfully get an RDS decode of Triple M Mackay 98.7 thanks to the signal getting stronger into the Sunshine Coast.
Something strange happening on 96FM in Perth (seen via the Waikiki webserver) -
If thatās a weak signal, itās most likely bit errors in the RDS data carrier, but if itās local / strong it might be the encoder at the transmitter playing up.
Itās definitely a local signal. Waikiki can easily receive the Perth stations at strong strength. Probably just a glitch with the RDS on their transmitter. Nothing wrong with the audio side of things.
Does anybody within Victoria know if UGFM for their outlets in Alexandra 106.9, Marysville 98.5 & Yea 88.9 still have RDS? The last updates in the Australian RDS list for these outlets was back in 2018 & I havenāt seen any mention of RDS from these since. I know from the Melb TEF webservers that 94.5 Flowerdale doesnāt have RDS.
I havenāt seen RDS come up for Flow FM 95.3 Speed via the Mildura webserver yet. Iām not sure if they have a low RDS subcarrier or if RDS switched off.
Some other Vic RDS enquires are 93.7 3SUN Mansfield - no RDS logs & 89.3 3NE Mt. Hotham - PI code to be confirmed.
I have noticed that yarra valley FM has changed itās RDS. Itās PI code is now 0000 and it has some sort of dynamic PS that wont load properly since the signal is too weak.
Amazing things can sometimes happen.
107.5 triple j Melbourne now has their RDS Clock Time back in sync with actual time.
same with 105.9 ABC Classic Melbourne.
They are both now transmitting accurate Clock Time.
I might be able to do this one as I hope to do another trip down there in mid Jan, staying at Hoth this time. Yes, I hate the heat.
From my observations driving through the area recently 93.7 Mansfield was showing as Hit 96.9 (the same as 96.9 Shepparton), while 93.7 Yea was hit93.7.
There was also some AF in play - it switch me from 93.7 to 96.9 somewhere between Mansfield and Benalla, but didnāt do the same in reverse.
Iāll need to convince the other half that we should make a few stops to get the SDR out to take some readings along the way. Iād be very interested in investigating the differences between 93.7 Mansfield, Yea and Alexandra further.
That was my observation too when I passed through the area via the Hume in April.
I stopped in Seymour and fired up the TEF and didnāt see any RDS on UGFM 106.9 either.
