Monaro FM - it could be my car radio, but only 90.5 Cooma appeared to have RDS, not 93.3 Nimmitabel.
Good to see XLFM using localised RDS for its relays. Caught XLFM92.1 and XLFM92.5 from Thredbo and Bombala south of Cooma, though 98.7 Preisher didn’t seem to be on air at all (but I did receive Snow on 101.9 and with RDS).
And at Nanny Goat Hill in Cooma Town I capped this one from Jindabyne.
93.3 2MNO does not run RDS, nor does 103.7 Bombala from what I’ve received. Not sure about 93.9 Jindabyne.
98.7 Perisher has been off air for a long time; it’s surprising it hasn’t been reactivated in time for the snow bunnies. I suppose there’s still a month to go yet, even longer for any decent snow.
Did you go Mount Darragh Road or Brown Mountain from Eden? I prefer the former as there’s much less traffic, and you can grab some reception of 3MGB Genoa along the way too. Use the unsealed but decent cross country road from Cathcart to Bibbenluke, which goes past our MW DX site at Black Lake.
Yes- the tower is visible from the top of the mountain as you head west and down towards Bibbenluke as well. You can’t see it from the coastal plain as it’s on the western side of the Brown Mountain range.
Yarra Valley’s 99.1 3VYV now has RDS.
Please note that the displayed PTY on the captured pic below is incorrect due to data corruption from noisy signal. Their PTY is undefined or PTY code of zero.
3VYV are using dynamic PS, displaying across 3 lines as:
Yarra
Valley
99.1 FM
New car and it’s scanning the station lists with RDS and why the hell is Classic Brisbane saying ClasFMic. Is this the dynamic PS playing havoc with my Toyota?
Edit: 98.9 is the worst I think FTHECOUB what ever that is
I know what the station is :). Just thinking what the hell the rds is trying to say to me!
Edit: I’m a dumbass, just worked it out sorry @TV.Cynic. Christ dynamic PS is a scourge, how are u supposed to know what it is when the station list decodes gibberish.
Yup. 4 different (if my memory serves me correctly) dynamic PS methodologies too. Can be worse if data too updates too quickly & you’re in a bad signal area.
Early observations - Nabiac LPON Vision FM 87.6 using Dynamic PS for station name Vision and FM on separate lines, rather odd when you consider it would fit on one line!
It still appears to be the only station using RDS in the Taree region.
Some good news, Tank FM Kempsey has stopped using Dynamic PS, looks much cleaner now!
Thanks for clarifying
Don’t know why I incorrectly ‘assumed’ 2HD Port Stephens.
Gosh, Port Stephens FM initially had their RDS implemented nicely too…
The mind boggles.
Encouraging seeing TANK FM fixing their badly implemented RDS PS.
Wonder what prompted them to make the correction?
SWR 99.9 have made some recent changes to their RDS output.
Changed PTY from ‘Undefined’ to ‘Varied’.
Implemented PTYN (Grp 10A). It appears as: ‘Varied’.
