Why the hell is Michael woeful Usher hosting 7’s election coverage in Queensland? He has absolutely no presence there… Ridiculous !

No one else to get, I suppose. 7 Brisbane viewers haven’t really been a fan of Bill McDonald since he joined, and they need to keep Kay at 6pm, so they can rate.

Plus, Usher is considered the national face of the network, with him hosting nearly all the rolling/breaking news events.

Continuous coverage for several hours already on Sky.

Usher is not the national face of the network.

He barely appears in markets outside Sydney.

Only on the rare occurrence of breaking news.

Seven jumped the gun and started early. Nine still with cricket.

Nine technically late. C’mon Nine put the cricket on Gem.

Seven News has had that hideous set since Campbell Newman was elected premier.

Banner on Nine’s cricket telecast says coverage will start “after the cricket”.

At least they didn’t fly Mark Ferguson up instead.

If anyone it would be Ann Sanders…

Kay McGrath will present the 6pm News live from Parliament House tonight. Last election, they quickly wiped the panel during an ad break for the news.

Rod Young did the opening V/O. Shame he isn’t a part of the coverage.

Judging by those caps from Seven, their coverage (aside from Michael Usher) looks more like something from 2007 rather than 2017. Their Brisbane news service really needs a new news set and HD!

It’ll be rather interesting to see what Nine’s coverage looks like once the cricket wraps up. They usually do reasonably good Election coverage for commercial TV standards.

Believe it or not, Sky News’ coverage looks better than Seven Microsoft Surface News.

Debatable knowing the current state of their ‘news’ service.
