Now, how does it compare to the O305 that Admet had also operated especially on the O-Bahn?

Might be time for you to head back to the airport, as an electric variant of this bus has been added to the fleet this week.

Transperth’s first B8RLE (Numbered TP2960) for the new contract is currently demonstrated to the bus drivers at the depots, allowing to see what has changed including the addition of exterior cameras.

Moore Street Railway Crossing near Mclver Station will be closed permanently from 1st October.

The SL200s sounded better but the O305s on the Obahn are more powerful and quicker, both great buses. I lived close to the end of the obahn so the O305 was the most common bus for me

The Moore St Railway Crossing was identified as a blackspot for motorists with Armadale and Midland Lines. Will Pedestrians still be able to cross the railway station at McIver?
I couldn’t believe that there was a railway crossing next to the traffic lights along Wharf Street, Hamilton St and Denny Ave in Kelmscott. It was very dangerous for motorists and they have to wait for a couple of minutes to clear the crossing. They need to get rid of the railway crossing along the Armadale/Thornlie Line. This will mean that there will be more rail disruptions across the Armadale Train Network.

The eastern pedestrian maze will be the only one that will remain open near Mclver Station and i certainly agree with you about those other crossings. I’ve seen cars getting stuck on the tracks all because of the red light while the boom gates are down.

The only concern is the Oats St station. I’ve seen Route 998 buses trying to turn right onto Oats St after leaving OSTS when there are lots of cars being lined up with boom gates down. Most Route 998 buses were 1-2 minutes late behind schedule and in worst case scenarios, with traffic delays and peak-hour traffic, it could be more than 3 minutes late behind schedule. I know that many bus drivers are feeling very stressed with buses departing from Oats Street Train Station. A couple of years ago, I waited for the Route 998 bus to arrive and at the scheduled time during the afternoon, the bus didn’t come. I was bitterly annoyed with late arrivals especially with a 3-minute delay. The Route 998 bus arrived and the driver was 8 minutes behind schedule! I couldn’t believe with the late arrivals. The bus had to depart immediately.

Oh by the way, the new B8RLE bus will replace some older Mercedes Benz O405NH buses. The O405NH buses have driven more than 1 million km on the odometer. Some older low-floored CNG buses have been retired from Transperth and are being replaced with new Volvo buses. Several Volvo Buses have left Transperth to move to TransRegionals to replace its older buses.

This does seems like a new era for PTA WA.

For those who don’t know what Transperth’s new B8RLE has, it’s equipped with a door sensor, fire suppression system and cameras. Unlike previous buses, the Thoreb display will be located next to the ticket machine rather than above the driver’s head.

Now don’t quote me on this but about the cams though when the driver activates the blinkers, the Thoreb display will show a left or right rear-view mirror camera on the display. Otherwise, the rear door camera has also become standard.

The problem with the Melbourne City Loop upgrade is that since each of the four rail tunnel runs in a single direction at a time, trains travelling in the other direction will either have to go through Flinders Street or the City Loop.

The old PTV Network Development Plan is much more sensible in this respect - connecting the Northern loop tunnel to Richmond and the Caulfield loop tunnel to North West Melbourne would allow for routing Craigieburn or Upfield trains through to Frankston

Won’t happen. The train to the airport was built as BOOT (Build, Own, Operate, Transfer) mode where the airtrain consortium has exclusive rights to public transport between the airport and the city until 2036. The contract would have to be brought out or modified and would cost too much.

this is just political grandstanding by a liberal mayor against a labor state government before both council and state elections next year

Brisbane M̶e̶t̶r̶o̶ Bendy Bus

Hopped on a Transperth Volvo B7RLE bus & noticed that there were USB ports for people to charge their phones and iPads. Newer VOlvo buses are rolling out with additional USB ports.

This is how Brisbane’s Austral Denning Metroliner-bodied Volvo B10M looked like originally.

And this is how a coach-style version looks like, although there are also single door units that retained the original seats. I see from videos that some have different types of seats fitted.

If one was going to be preserved, i would prefer the original one like how BPSWA’s MTT339 looked untampered thanks to an avid enthusiast who made it look like the way it did back in the MTT days.

Trams to be shut down in Melbourne this afternoon due to industrial action.

Has anyone ridden 2 of Transit System’s electric buses in Sydney? The Yutong one is so quiet that there are audible exterior bells to warn pedestrians.

Why two?

Anyone of those two types i mean but FTWDK, I’m referring to the BYD and the Yutong electric buses that Transit Systems Sydney operates as part of a trial.
