PTV Network New Zealand & TalkNZ (Patrick Te Pou Broadcasting Ltd)

I mean it is a lot but nobody is asking you to open the thread, you can mute it.

Maybe Paddy could cut down some schedules etc but I don’t see the issue, he’s not harming anyone by having some fun and sharing his creativity.

I am taking a break from posting due to unforeseen circumstances. I’ve kept up the good job and I’ve shared my creations with you all.

Have a happy Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year.

I wouldn’t let someone’s opinion get to you and stop you from posting / having fun. Keep up the good work, you’ve improved so much since the earlier parts of this thread.

But anyway, enjoy your break.

Thank you, @charlie, for your concern. I hope you and all the folk at Media Spy have loved me so much, and I always enjoy having fun by sharing my posts with you in a positive manner.

Once again, Merry Christmas!

Look I’m not sure what he said but I have to say, the commitment he has shown is incredible - from attention to detail in the promotional material to the lineups, and I’ve probably learnt the names of a bunch of NZ TV personalities from him.

Massive respect @PaddyTePou for the effort you’ve put in!

As I said, he has done a great job and if I were a NZ network looking for a copywriter, I would hire him in a heartbeat. But in his own words (before he deleted the post), he has run out of ideas with PTV. I think that confession itself suggests it’s probably a good time to start something fresh.

And no, I haven’t muted the thread because there are some great logo designs in here that I’m genuinely interested in viewing.

I wonder if you are over-estimating people’s interest in horse racing Paddy!

I don’t think that this is a good idea. Just like @OnAir, I don’t think more people will want racing than the cricket. Maybe have the racing live on another channel?

NEW YEAR’S WEEKEND ON PTV (UPDATE)

Due to unforeseen circumstances, there will be changes to both cricket and horse racing on PTV Network (as a fictional broadcaster).

Parts 1 & 3 of PTV Network’s New Year’s weekend schedules have now been updated and just to let you know that, in response to the replies given to me by @OnAir & @foxyrover, live cricket will screen on PTV and racing from Ellerslie will screen on Turbo (in place of the NHL match).

CRICKET: NZ v BANGLADESH (1st TEST, DAY 1)

Live from Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, PTV will screen full coverage of day one in the first cricket test between the BLACKCAPS and Bangladesh.

Laura McGoldrick will introduce that day’s coverage, and the commentators include Ian Smith, Lesley Murdoch, Simon Doull, Mike Hesson, Brendon McCullum, Jacob Oram and Shakib Al Hasan.

Highlights will screen at 7.30pm on Turbo and 11.35pm on PTV, as mentioned in Part 1.

HORSE RACING: SKYCITY NEW YEAR’S DAY RACES

Live from the Ellerslie Racecourse in Auckland, the SkyCity New Year’s Day Races (featuring the SkyCity City of Auckland Cup and the SkyCity Auckland Guineas) will now screen on Turbo, as mentioned in Part 3. Coverage will commence at midday and the start times will be as follows (approx):

Race one (Auckland Co-ops Taxis 1400) at 12.20pm
Race two (Barfoot & Thompson 1200) at 12.55pm
Race three (First Global Logistics Eclipse Stakes - Group 2) at 1.30pm
Race four (SkyCity City of Auckland Cup - Group 3) at 2.05pm
Race five (Valachi Downs Royal Stakes - Group 2) at 2.40pm
Race six (SkyCity Auckland Guineas - Group 2) at 3.15pm
Race seven (Dunstan Feeds Stayers Championship Final) at 3.55pm
Race eight (Sistema Railway - Group 1) at 4.30pm
Race nine (Rich Hill Mile - Group 2) at 5.10pm
Race 10 (Mainstream Plumbing & Gasfitting 1600) at 5.50pm

Aidan Rodley and Emily Bosson will introduce that day’s coverage, and George Simon will call the races. Also included will be tips from PTV Network personalities Goran Paladin and Kirstie Stanway, a weather forecast from Jess Tyson, a ‘Fashion at the Races’ feature from Wilhelmina Shrimpton, and comments from punters at a TAB agency.

I apologise to you all for any inconvenience.

Introducing “ASB New Faces”, PTV Network’s new talent show based on the British and Australian versions of the same name. It gives up-and-coming New Zealand entertainers the opportunity to showcase their talent: singing, dancing, playing an instrument, comedy or other activities when it comes to the performing arts.

Here’s how the format works. ASB New Faces is divided into the three region specific competitions:

  • North: Includes contestants from within the upper North Island, just north of Lake Taupo. The northern competition is filmed at South Pacific Pictures’ West Auckland base.
  • Central: Includes contestants from within the lower North Island, just south of Lake Taupo. The central competition is filmed at Wellington’s Avalon Television Studios.
  • South: Includes contestants from within the entire South Island. The southern competition is filmed at Christchurch’s Whitebait Studios.

Each regional competition consists of eight heats (i.e. on average, 64 acts throughout the competition and eight in each heat), three semifinals (i.e. eight winners and 16 runners-up from each heat) and a regional final (i.e. three winners and six runners-up from each semifinal). The winner and two runners-up from each regional final will advance to the national final, which will be filmed in Auckland (where filming of the northern competition takes place).

Two judges will make up the panel each week. Contestants will compete to win $1,000 per heat, $10,000 for a regional final and $100,000 for the national final by receiving marks out of 20 from the two judges in three categories such as ‘presentation’, ‘content’ and ‘entertainment value’.

All cash prizes will be supplied by ASB Bank (proud sponsor of ASB New Faces).

ASB New Faces, the local ‘family entertainment’ show, will screen Sundays at 6.30pm on PTV with Walter Neilands (formerly of “Sticky TV” and “Dancing with the Stars NZ” fame) as host.

60 Minutes will move to the new timeslot of 7.30pm as a lead-in to the Sunday night movie, and the US sitcoms Young Sheldon and B Positive will move to Thursday nights at their regular times.

FLIPBOOK CHANGES

It’s the start of the New Year and due to unforeseen circumstances, I made some changes to the one-pagers of PTV Network New Zealand (as a fictional broadcaster), with updated text and images.

As part of the changes, I had to rename Te Ao Pātariki (PTV Network’s daily Māori language news programme - produced in conjunction with Māori Television) to Te Hēteri (which literally means ‘the sentry’ or ‘the lookout’) and move its timeslot to 4.30pm.

Pricing of PTV+ Premium (a commercial-free version of PTV+, PTV Network’s streaming and on-demand video platform) was increased to $19.99 per month and PTV Sport+ (PTV Network’s premium sport streaming service), $39.99 per month.
