Join the Postcards team this week as guest presenter Kate Langbroek joins the show, at 3.00pm Sunday on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Kate Langbroek and her son, Lewis Lewis, take us to their favourite venues in St Kilda (Boonwurrung Country) for a chat about Kate’s new role as a My Room Children’s Cancer Charity ambassador, and the upcoming My Room Grand Final Spectacular on Thursday September 26, at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now. Kate and Lewis visit some of their favourite haunts including Manu’s Bistro for a Sri Lankan inspired brunch, Cicciolina for classic Italian and lastly The Walrus wine and oyster bar. Along the way they chat about their special connection to My Room and Lewis’s own childhood cancer experience.

Madeline Spark is in Mentone (Boonwurrung Country). First up, she discovers Applehead Deli, a cute sandwich shop on Latrobe Street, where she meets owner Denis Arbatov. From there she hits NONHQ in Cheltenham, the world’s first alcohol-free cellar door, for a tasting and a natter with the head of production, Rick Marson. Madeline wraps up with a slice of pizza at New York-inspired pizza joint Sunnyside Sliced run by Ali.

Livinia Nixon gets a sneak peek at the Australian Ballet Company’s new production, Oscar. While the Melbourne Arts Precinct undergoes renovations, the Regent Theatre (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country) is the temporary home for the ballet, which will premiere Oscar this month. A new CBD location brings the company closer to Melbourne’s best dining venues, including Andrew McConnell’s Cumulus Inc. which is offering a free glass of sparkling to all ballet patrons. After a meal and bubbles at Cumulus Inc., Livinia is off to the rehearsal studios in Southbank to meet artistic director David Hallberg and the team behind Oscar.

And Shane Delia is lapping up some beachside living in Wurtulla on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast (Gubbi Gubbi Country). First he checks out the latest Mater Prize Home up for grabs alongside the Mater Prize Home ambassador, Boyd Duff. After a stroll along Wurtulla Beach, it’s time for coffee while meeting owner Esther Bundellu and watching the surf at her Pocket Espresso Bar.

Join the Postcards team this week as the team travel from the CBD and surrounding suburbs to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, at 5.30pm Sunday on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Livinia Nixon takes us out to three CBD (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country) spots that do a great mid-week grab-and-go lunch. She starts at the charming French Fix for a taste of Parisian delights including a mouthwatering baguette. At Goz City, she dives into the delicious fresh gozleme. Livinia wraps up with an onigiri at the Onigiri Kitchen & Sake Bar, where Japanese flavors take centre stage.

Kris Smith takes us to the Bayside suburbs Ormond and Caulfield South (Boonwurrung Country) to uncover some hidden gems in the local food and drink scene. His first stop is Sebby’s Scrolls, where he meets owners Sebastian Castro and Annabelle Strahan, who turned their lockdown baking into a beloved business known for its cinnamon scrolls. Moving on to the Velo Rapport Café, he hears about its unique atmosphere and The White Bike Foundation, which supports cyclists’ safety, from owner Chris Savage. Kris caps off the day discovering the charm of the Arcadia Whisky Lounge, a hidden speakeasy offering a cozy retreat and top-notch whisky.

Meanwhile, Shane Delia is exploring the Sunshine Coast hinterland (Gubbi Gubbi Country), showcasing a fabulous car and caravan package. Mater Cars For Cancer are giving viewers the chance to win a Ford F150 Lariat and Vacatione Roughrider Caravan in their latest prize package. It’s their biggest lottery yet, valued at over $410,000. Brodie Harper checks-in for an airport staycay at the brand new Novotel at Melbourne Airport (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). The precinct features an onsite cafe, Small Holdings, providing a good cup of St Ali coffee, and Boccata Restaurant & Bar who are serving up an Italian inspired dinner. Plus there’s Higher State, Melbourne’s first airport health and wellbeing club. Nearby, she visits Arundel Farm Estate, a boutique family-run winery nestled in the hills of the Keilor Valley.

Kris Smith explores foodie spots along Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). Starting off with a sugar hit at The Cookie Box, he then heads up the road to Glenferrie Gourmet Meats to meet owner Josh Neilson and try their famous viral chicken nuggets. After lunch, there are more sweet treats at Joli, which offers Melbourne’s latest healthy dessert sensation, coconut-flavoured jellies.

Madeline Spark visits some cool and quirky spots in Brunswick (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). She starts off with a fun cooking class at Brunswick Kitchen with owner Tracey Lister before making her way to Beinart Gallery where local and international artists exhibit their work. She ends up at Dutch restaurant and bar Mokum, and chats to owner Albert Sikkens over some traditional Dutch dishes.

Guest presenters Eliza and Liberty Paschke are in Footscray checking out the food scene (Boonwurrung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). They enjoy some hot moreish pies at Pie Thief on Barkly Street, before heading to Footscray’s latest Japanese hotspot, Elka Sushi. The sisters then head to Moon Dog Wild West to meet co-founder Karl Van Buuren over cocktails.

Brodie Harper is in West Melbourne (Boonwurrung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). She checks out the latest exhibition at West End Art Space before a bite to eat at Angkor Cafe & Restaurant, which serves up home-style Cambodian food inspired by the dishes owner Neri Herrmann grew up eating. Then it’s off to Lukumades for Greek doughnuts.

We find Shane Delia in Adelaide (Kaurna Country), sampling the famous wines of McLaren Vale. To get around he tries out Trail Hopper, Adelaide’s only hop-on, hop-off tour service that showcases South Australia’s wine regions. After a tasting at one of the largest wineries, d’Arenberg, he heads to the oldest winery in the region, Kay Brothers Winery and Cellar Door. Back in the city, he checks into the luxurious Vibe Hotel for dinner at its signature Storehouse Flinders East restaurant.

And Lauren Phillips is in the CBD visiting the new Accidentally Wes Anderson exhibition for an insight into the life of the famous film director (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). After stepping into his quirky world, Lauren goes to The Budapest Cafe, a vibrant tribute to the filmmaker’s style named after his Oscar-winning film, The Grand Budapest Hotel. She ends her day with a sweet treat at Madeleine de Proust Patisserie.

Her morning kicks off with a coffee and a sweet treat at cosy European-style cafe, Park Pantry before visiting the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. Afterwards she enjoys a fresh Italian focaccia from Zita’s Focaccia on Toorak Road then ends the day with a cocktail in hand at Beverly Rooftop.

Kris Smith explores St Kilda (Boonwurrung Country), beginning at local favourite, rustic Italian cafe Sorsi e Morsi before making his way to St Kilda Botanical Gardens to soak up some sun and enjoy the oasis of greenery. Kris then enjoys a cold beer at British-inspired neighbourhood pub, The Lion and Wombat.

Madeline Spark discovers a unique dining experience in Drysdale on the Bellarine Peninsula (Wathaurong Country). Starting with some warm hospitality and brunch at The Bungalow, she then boards The Q Train, Australia’s premier rail restaurant. Post-train ride, Maddie makes her way to popular distillery, The Whiskery for a drink.

And, Livinia Nixon meets the cast of Tina - The Tina Turner Musical, which is currently playing in Melbourne (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). She goes behind the scenes with the talented performers who share some insight into the exhilarating show. Then, Livinia enjoys a post-show bite at Reed House, around the corner on Lonsdale Street.

Join the Postcards team this week as guest presenter Yvie Jones joins the show and the team revisit some of their favourite places this year, at 5.30pm Sunday on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Guest Presenter Yvie Jones brings in the Christmas Spirit for the exciting new run of A Christmas Carol at the Comedy Theatre (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). In South Melbourne she chats with Erik Thomson who is leading the musical as Ebenezer Scrooge. They grab a bite to eat at Deli Boy before visiting the rehearsal studio. Later, Yvie makes her way to Circl Wine House in the CBD, which is the perfect spot for a pre or post-theatre bite.

Kris Smith checks in for a “stay-cay” in the CBD at the Vibe Hotel Melbourne (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). After giving viewers a tour of the hotel facilities and contemporary rooms, he heads across the road to hire a boat with GoBoat Melbourne for a unique cruising experience along the Yarra. He finishes his day back at the hotel with a nautical-themed cocktail at Flinders Street’s newest and tallest rooftop bar, Fleet.

Kevin and Janetta show viewers around their hometown of Maldon (Dja Dja Wurrung Country). Starting on Main Street, they head into Maldon Bakery for a pastry before shopping at Portia & Co and chatting to owner Rebecca Haack. They end their tour of Maldon at the quirky Blue Cockatoo Bar which is accessible through the fish and chip shop!

Shane Delia is in Flemington (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country) for a look at the famous racecourse ahead of the Melbourne Cup. Back on Racecourse Road, Shane unearths some flavourful East African cuisine at New Somali Kitchen and sits down with chef, Abdo Sean, for a feast before wrapping up the afternoon with a pint of Guinness at Melbourne’s best Irish pub, The Quiet Man.

Join the Postcards team this week as we meet Melburnian of the Year and check out the global smash hit musical, Sister Act, at 5.30pm Sunday on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Shane Delia heads west for a tasty meal in Corio and North Geelong (Wathaurong Country). To begin his day, he fuels up at Paddock Bakery, inside the Federal Mills Precinct before lunch at 1915. He then takes a short drive and checks out Curry @ Corio in the food court at Corio Village.

Livinia Nixon meets our new Melburnian of the Year, Rebecca Scott (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). In 2008, Rebecca founded STREAT, a social enterprise aimed at uplifting and supporting young people at risk. They chat over coffee at STREAT’s Queen Vic Market cafe before Livinia heads to Blender Studios, winner of the Arts and Events award.

Yvie Jones gets a sneak peek of the global smash hit musical, Sister Act, open at the Regent Theatre (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). First she stops by Marameo, for a delicious plate of pasta and a chat with superstar Casey Donovan, who plays the lead role of Deloris Van Cartier, in the musical. Later, at the theatre, she meets another cast member - musical legend Rhonda Burchmore. Yvie ends her day with a drink in hand at Bijou Bottle Store on Little Collins Street.

And Kris Smith is up on the Gold Coast (Bundjalung Country). First up, Kris gives viewers a tour of the latest Mater Prize Home up for grabs before checking out what could be one lucky winner’s new neighbourhood, teeing off on the championship golf course, the Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club. After building up an appetite he heads to Citrique at JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa and enjoys an award winning seafood lunch.

TAKE A TRIP TO IRELAND WITH BRODIE HARPER

Join the Postcards team this week as Brodie Harper takes a trip to Ireland, at 5.30pm Sunday on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Guided by Tourism Ireland, Brodie begins in County Donegal at historic Lough Eske Castle, which is now a five-star luxury hotel. Next, she heads towards the coast to the Donegal Equestrian Centre where she takes in the rugged beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way on horseback before getting on the water with Sliabh Liag Boat Tours, to take in a stunning perspective of the Sliabh Liag Cliffs, Ireland’s tallest sea cliffs.

We then venture an hour north-west to Glenveagh National Park by way of the small town of Kilmacrennan for a coffee. On reaching Glenveagh Castle & Gardens, Brodie chats to Mary Gallagher who has been working at the castle for over 20 years, then ends the day kayaking and enjoying the rugged wilderness of the area with Eco Atlantic Adventure.

After a few days of exploring the Republic of Ireland, Brodie crosses the border into Northern Ireland along the Antrim Coast, where she visits Giant’s Causeway, the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the historical Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. The day ends with an Irish whisky at the oldest licensed whisky distillery in the world, Old Bushmills.

Brodie’s trip ends with a jam-packed itinerary full of fun in and around Belfast, the vibrant capital of Northern Ireland. She visits the Ulster Folk Museum in Cultra before exploring Finebough Woods where she learns about ancient bush craft and wild cooking techniques. Then she waves goodbye to Ireland dancing to Celtic tunes as she takes the Belfast Trad Music Trail tour.

Postcards , Victoria’s favourite travel show, is back for its 27th year with a jam-packed schedule ahead, starting this Sunday at 5.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.

After a summer break, the team are ready to share the best dining, entertainment and travel experiences on offer around the state.

Postcards’ favourite presenters are all returning, including 9News weather presenter Livinia Nixon, sports broadcaster and Tipping Point host Todd Woodbridge, media personality and Nova 100 breakfast radio host Lauren Phillips, 9News Melbourne reporter Madeline Spark, former rugby league player and television presenter Kris Smith, model and TV presenter Brodie Harper, and chef and restaurateur Shane Delia.

A familiar face to the show, Australian television presenter, Yvie Jones, will join the team as a semi-regular presenter this year. And viewers will be treated to special appearances from guest presenters including much-loved entertainers Anthony Callea and Tim Campbell, three-time Olympian and pole vault gold medallist Steve Hooker, plus other popular personalities.

This week Lauren Phillips dives into the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival with top chef Julia Busuttil Nishimura and checks out a couple of Melburnians’ favourite bakeries. Livinia Nixon treats viewers to the best of South Melbourne, while Kris Smith embraces the charms of farm life on the Mornington Peninsula. And Shane Delia gives us a food tour around Adelaide, showcasing the best wining and dining on offer.

First they enjoy the goodies at the award-winning Bridgewater Bakehouse before soaking up some local history at the Ulumburra Theatre, which builds a lunch appetite they satisfy at Allium Dining.

Shane Delia takes a tour of the foodie mecca in Clayton (Boonwurrung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). He starts at PBK Noodles, chatting to the owner, Michale Samsir, and slurping on delicious noodles. Then it’s a stroll through the aisles at the Hong Kong Supermarket, immersing himself in the endless Asian grocery items. Shane ends his day at Modu with a more-ish Chinese feed.

This week Kris Smith flies north to Bribie Island in Queensland (Kabi Kabi and Joondoburri Country). His day begins with a walk on Sylvan Beach before checking out the latest Mater Prize Home up for grabs. Meanwhile, Madeline Spark is exploring the exciting Morris Moor bayside precinct in Kingston (Boonwurrung Country). After coffee and a pastry at Penny for Pound she heads to the Fun Lab, where she orders a milkshake and gets amongst the bowling, mini golf and other games on offer. She then heads to the foodie hub and enjoys a pub classic at the Stomping Ground Brewery and Beer Hall.

She kicks off her visit at Rat The Cafe, a charming spot known for its organic produce and sustainable practices. Next she heads to High Street, where Umberto Espresso Bar serves up comforting Italian classics with a side of warm hospitality. Livinia Nixon explores the mesmerising world of Yayoi Kusama at NGV International (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country) in the largest retrospective of the renowned Japanese artist ever staged in the southern hemisphere. Guided by NGV Senior Curator of Asian Art, Wayne Crothers, they explore the immense breadth of Kusama’s career from early paintings to large scale canvas, to sculpture, fashion, and her iconic infinity rooms. Next, she heads towards the coast to the Donegal Equestrian Centre where she takes in the rugged beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way on horseback before getting on the water with Sliabh Liag Boat Tours, to take in a stunning perspective of the Sliabh Liag Cliffs, Ireland’s tallest sea cliffs.

We then venture an hour north-west to Glenveagh National Park by way of the small town of Kilmacrennan for a coffee. On reaching Glenveagh Castle & Gardens, Brodie chats to Mary Gallagher who has been working at the castle for over 20 years, then ends the day kayaking and enjoying the rugged wilderness of the area with Eco Atlantic Adventure.

After a few days of exploring the Republic of Ireland, Brodie crosses the border into Northern Ireland along the Antrim Coast, where she visits Giant’s Causeway, the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the historical Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. The day ends with an Irish whisky at the oldest licensed whisky distillery in the world, Old Bushmills.

Brodie’s trip ends with a jam-packed itinerary full of fun in and around Belfast, the vibrant capital of Northern Ireland.
