Beyond International has acquired international format and finished program distribution rights to Pooch Perfect, including the UK and Australian versions, as the result of the company’s purchase of Seven Studios UK and Seven West Media’s share in 7Beyond in Los Angeles.

Pooch Perfect will be among more than 300 hours of unscripted and kids’ programming to be launched by Beyond Rights at MIPCOM this month.
The BBC has released a trailer for the UK version, which premieres next Thursday, January 7. Colin Taylor will be a judge on the show like the Channel 7 version.
Now Germany and Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg) will get their own versions too. The original Aussie version will be shown in Finland, Portugal and Canada.

It could be like dating show Taken Out, which flopped in Australia but prospered overseas (and spawned the popular Chinese program If You Are the One).

Gotta say, if this works with Beyond, I’d be asking how did Seven screw it up. It is a format Seven had no reason not to get right or get sales internationally.
I’d say that Seven still holds the original format rights but Beyond holds international distribution rights, as I posted in July last year.
Yes, but Seven had the rights originally before they sold Seven Studios UK. The distribution business really was something that Seven should have been good at.

Seven Studios also produced drama Between Two Worlds but did not do international distribution. eOne handled overseas sales.
Regarding Pooch Perfect, TV Blackbox says:
Beyond Rights manage international distribution for the format. Seven receives a share of revenue format fees and distribution proceeds from the sales.

The US version of Pooch Perfect, hosted by Rebel Wilson, premieres on ABC on March 30.
The judges are Lisa Vanderpump, Dr. Callie Harris and Jorge Bendersky.

Rebel channeled Disney character Cruella de Vil during a recent episode of Pooch Perfect US.
The BBC has axed its own version of Pooch Perfect.
A good premise for a show, but it’s something you’d expect to see on a niche-r channel.
