AFL STARS TAKE OVER ON PLAYERS

BRAND-NEW SHOW IS ALL TALK, NO FILTER

PREMIERE MONDAY, APRIL 28,

AFTER FOOTY CLASSIFIED ON CHANNEL 9 & 9NOW

A brand new footy show is landing on television – and this time the players are calling the shots.

Players is the show for the fans, by the players, premiering Monday, April 28, after Footy Classified on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Every Monday, three of the AFL’s biggest names will sit down in a relaxed, locker room-style setting to open up about everything from the game to life beyond it. From on-field heroics to off-field habits, Players is where the AFL stars let their guard down and show a side of themselves that fans rarely get to see.

Fronted by former professional basketball player turned media personality Felix Von Hofe, Players is designed to get people talking. With experience on and off the court, Felix knows how to connect with players, ask the questions the fans really want answered and keep the banter rolling.

Locked in for episode one are some of the most talked about names in the game, including Collingwood premiership superstar Nick Daicos, Hawthorn phenom Nick “Wizard” Watson and Geelong’s Coleman Medallist Jeremy Cameron.

The program is built around key segments giving players the space to share stories, stir the pot and show off the personalities you don’t see at press conferences.

With no other show giving players the mic quite like this, Players promises to deliver an unfiltered take on the week’s biggest talking points, from match-day madness to personal passions. More than just a footy panel, Players is where the AFL players can be themselves as they share laughs and stories the fans will lap up.

Players is produced by JamTV for the 9Network.

According to today’s Herald Sun, GWS captain Toby Greene and Annalise Dalins (fiance of Collingwood premiership player Josh Daicos), will also be on the show.

The show is sponsored by Chemist Warehouse.

Herald Sun has a summary of what happened on last night’s debut.

At the very top of the first ever ‘Players’, host Felix von Hofe says “the footy market, according to everyone, is flooded with TV shows at the moment so I think we’ve fixed the problem and invented another one. But we have the main ingredient that the others seem to be missing and that is the opinion of the players”.

The first guests on Nine’s new show; Collingwood star Nick Daicos, Geelong’s Jeremy Cameron and Hawthorn’s Nick Watson all concede they don’t consume much footy media with the initial discussion around Cameron’s YouTube channel and just how much Watson spends on Fortnite.
