Haven’t you then breached the privacy of the four admin members by posting their Facebook photos here?
not really as their is no identifiable information about them if you want to get into brass tacks.
Agree @littlegezzybear, you have @Tuco_Salamanca.
Unless your name is Walter I wouldn’t be messing with Tuco!
His claim that Starter FM was relayed by PVB is correct. I posted the video a while back in this thread.
My apologies I assumed you guys were associated with one another… All the best with getting it on the air in legal form
Bald claim…
Pirate broadcast on 91.8 MHz received at Gregory Hills received last night. Not sure if it’s a new one or if one of the previously mentioned ones changed frequencies:
new one probably, can confirm it didn’t come from the bangaz side of things.
sounds punchy as, i love it tho. what else where they playing?
and from what i know isn’t 91.8 used by a frequency in the sydney basin? he could of at least been a good kid and gone to 89.5 or if he is in south western sydney with less than 50 watts then 90.3…
Noted an ‘unofficial’ relay of MMM Country in Wagga city today on 88.1. Pretty much limited to a few blocks right around the CBD.
Congested end of the band with ABC Classic’s main service on Mt Ulandra on 88.3
Pirate in East Sydney (Near Bondi) on 91.8 FM playing chill out dance.
I don’t understand why they chose Even frequencies such as 91.8 instead of 91.9 as it makes it more obvious they are not legit
Interesting you mention that, I remember a while back I was driving around Broadway in the City and I picked up this very strange broadcast on 91.9 FM, No music per se was broadcast but experimental sounds were played.
I thought it might have had something to with the museum of modern art?
I got it multiple times around the same area.
Can we just clarify once again that STARTERFM and PVB… 2 completely different people and two completely different entities.
As far as i know these days PVB has no interest in pirating anymore and as makes comment to the effect of and i qoute “I feel like it got the narrative of the absoloute mess, that is now the sydney radio landscape heading in the right direction and hopefully in a positive way, and general direction of the radio landscape got the boot in the butt that it needs. You will look to talented people in our generation for answers to help you when your listener base dies out.” .
Can the authour of this please get in touch if you would like a chat my lines are open.
Thank You
Warm Regards
AA
That was me sort of doing some digging around, as info on you guys was rather thin back then.
Just a curious line in the actual wikipedia article where it notes the magistrate fining that west wollingong pirate. Goes to show that even our court system is bought out and bent as well. The newspaper article never noted anything about him interfering with another service, the lazy-leaners at ACMA and the government need to obsessively control the narrative on that one. Remember the myth has to be reinforced that the radio spectrum is oh so, oh so precious, only because the government gave it all to their corporate friends in the first place.
And for your optimism regarding sydney radio generally; not wanting to be a party pooper, but it’s going to continue to be the same shit-hole until some independent operators can grab some city wide spectrum and be adventurous with their programming ambitions.
Again, I’m kind of reluctant posting this as I feel I’ve said much of this before, but CRA own radio in Australia, and nobody can touch them. I’m making some lines of enquiry, it “could” lead to some stuff hitting the fan, but again it could lead to “nothing”. The government’s conflict of interest with CRA is terribly corrupt and somebody has to really stick it to them in some form, how that would eventuate, nobody knoes.
An open carrier currently on 89.5 in a large part of Western Sydney as far as I can tell from driving around.
yeah, something prompted me to DX at that time … nothing but sweet transmitter buzz… definitely coming from the east.
