Pirate Radio

Is true we just offer our stream to parties interested in taking it.

I could hear bleed over from 91.6 on 91.5… So I don’t know specifics, but 89.5 on the other hand didn’t interfere with other broadcasters…

To my knowledge he hadn’t done as much research on 91.7 and he was operating on that frequency very briefly in like 2014

Not to sure about 91.5’s circumstances, so I stand corrected in saying 89. 5 didn’t cause any interference with anyone else.

Seems like 89.5 is back on.

In my opinion it’s never been a better time for the stations like bangaz…

Hi…I guess one issue that spectrum is just so scarce… In reality there are very few spare frequencies left in the greater Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane regions for instance.
Which is where there would be the most interest from “pirate” broadcasters in setting up such a service.

Only because ACMA have been such pigs in managing the spectrum, half the garbage on the FM band could have been positioned on the AM band like talk and etc stations that are not music. Like anything, if something gets too full, it’s time for a little cleaning, or decluttering, but that’s going to upset some of those donor friends who have got “special treatment”.

Which actually brings me to my next point, with the shutdowns and so forth, wondering if this would be open season for pirates, as like many other places, ACMA staff (particularly their triangulation rats) would be in social isolation too?

Let us know how you go.

The pirate who was previously on 91.5 MHz (but stopped presumably due to the TCBL on 91.6 MHz) is now broadcasting on 89.5 MHz – the same frequency as Penrith Valley Bangaz.

The blasphemous claims… Please allow me to clarify, Starter FM is an online-only station. PVB picked up the stream and simulcast over the air on few occasions. Support good radio. :ok_hand:

not that anyone likes rules or anything but this is one the radio green rooms front page…
not that we mind anybody sharing the great news or anything, but it is a screen shot from that page.
