I agree it’s easier when its cooler and people have their doors and windows closed. In summer too I close my windows and doors when I have my air con running .
No parent “lets” their child do it. They can do things to try and prevent it or stop it, but ultimately the child gets the deciding vote.
Said by someone who obviously has no children or looked after any.
It’s a slippery slope. Noisy children become juvenile delinquents.
Neighbours who have dogs that yap/bark at the slightest noise and then don’t stop and no effort is made to shut them up.
Reminds me of my granddad (RIP) who was very mature about his neighbours’ constantly barking dog. He would set up a tape recorder by the fence, record the dog barking and then play it back to the neighbours at high volume so they could know what it was like. Very mature and measured response. And it didn’t fix anything.
I know that one very well. Happening to us at the moment.
Not sure if i should contact the shire about it , we have spoken to the neighbours about the constant barking . They said its fine there is no issue. They told us he stays outside so we just need to get used to it.
I wasnt happy with that answer , they tried to talk to me the other day, but i completly ignored them as i was not thrilled with their reaponse. The dog constantly barks day and night and has woken me up a few times this week at 3am.
But hey .Can not do much about it from my end.
The one I’ve had next to my place for 2 years got better for a while - after some intervention (a complaint) but now it’s getting worse again.
Lucky I don’t mind the sound of barking dogs or I wouldn’t be able to volunteer at the RSPCA.IT can get very noisy there sometimes when a number of dogs are barking at the same time…I’m not a dog volunteer anyway,I see other volunteers and staff members walking the dogs around the grounds there
I’m not sure if this is a good idea, but a little Behaviouism might fix barking dogs. I’ve always wondered if you played a tone only the dog can hear, really loud whenever it barks to discourage it.
It kinda relies on the dog not liking the sound though.
Yeah at my place we have a barking dog a few doors down and no matter how many complaints were made, they still let it sit out the back and bark all day, sometimes it howls for hours too and you feel sorry for such a beautiful dog (aussie shepard) feeling so bored he cries out for attention
I ended up getting in contact with my local council. They gave me some good advice in relation to my neighbours barking dog noise.
What was the advice?
a couple of bars of dairy milk usually solve the problem
Protesters.
I’m sure there are other ways to get your point across rather than disrupting the general public and throwing red paint on MP’s electorate offices. What a waste of taxpayer dollars and police resources.
Go and find a job!
I agree with you. Any protesting that disrupts daily life for those who need to get to places and damages to buildings is not protesting. It’s public disorderly conduct (in my opinion) .
As long it’s done peacefully and without damage to peoples property in all for protesting.
Male tennis players who wear backward baseball caps while playing.I think our own Lleyton Hewitt is indirectly responsible for this trend as he always wore his cap backwards in his early days on the ATP tour in the late 90s.
Alex De Minaur always wears his cap the right way around and a lot of the guys wear headbands, that looks better in my opinion
Jannik Sinner also wears his cap the right way around
Yes I’ve mentioned this before but I’m over idiots who refuse to stop looking at their phone screens while walking on busy streets and at train or bus stations
I would be very angry if I was knocked down by one of these people as it’s very hard for me to get up again and if I was badly injured I’d be even more furious
Don’t get me started on e-scooters😡
Items not lasting long these days.
Stuff like fridges, washing machines, phones, cars etc lasted for decades with not much issue. These days, they last two - three years before they break and need replacing.
A guy sitting in front of me on my flight had his seat reclined so there wasn’t much room for me to put down my tray table to eat my inflight meal.
(I always preorderer my meal on Jetstar flights so then a crew member can hand it to me directly )
People who won’t shut up for the whole flight(in the row behind me)at that time of the night,if was after 9.30 pm ,I just wanted some peace and quiet
Thank goodness for my noise cancelling headphones,
