Noise cancelling head phones is the best idea for planes. Not sure why people have to be absolute silent on planes
. When I first went to on a plane trip I chatted with my friend the whole way there to our destination. Kept our voices low. I would agree if the conversation was loud but to me if they are roudy and making huge disruptions to the other passengers then that would be more problematic.
There have been some weird ass shit going on planes lately and it seems to be coming from Perth flights to Melbourne
The reclining issue wasn’t an issue for me because the guy was tall and asked if he could put his seat redlined I said sure no problems , even there he did t have to ask. He put it back during feeding time . Being a tall guy he probably needed that extra lie.
Noise cancelling headphones on plane trips also helps drown the noise of the engines.
I guess I get upset by people talking whether it’s on public transport,a plane or in a cafe/food court is because I have no close friends and I struggle to make friends and I always have
I’m sorry to hear that . Have you thought about joining social groups in your community ? I’m like that as well but I have had to seek therapy to help get over some of my social anxiety and joined a couple groups at my local community . It has helped me but I guess everyone is different.
Yes those plane engines ! can never get used to those !
That doesn’t work for me because of my lifelong ASD.,social anxiety and not being able to make friends easily is just part of it,Most of the time I get by though.(with help from my anti anxiety medication)
When I was still working I kept to myself and had break times by myself and I didn’t see any of my workmates outside of work hours. There were only a couple of coworkers who I was able to talk to and feel comfortable with.
Volunteering at the RSPCA for the last year has helped me a lot as I’ve met many nice people there,
Public Transport services, especially in peak hours.
If I do travel to the RSPCA by public transport for my volunteer shifts if I leave earlier to avoid the worst of peak hours it’s not as bad.
I did today and avoided the worst of it but still had to keep an eye out for idiots walking in the CBD looking at their phones and not where they’re going.
I even said ‘stop looking at your phones, people’ but I doubt anyone heard me
My #1 Pet Peeve. I can’t do this because my eyesight isn’t great (yes I can drive a car okay but looking at a mobile phone screen whilst walking is beyond me). I have to stop to read it properly.
I worry about being knocked over by some idiot looking at their phone on a busy street, that’s why it’s safer for me to drive while I still can.
Anyway I have to put on my reading glasses to see my phone screen properly
Petrol costing $2.20 per litre again.Whether I like it or not I’ll have to drive less and use public transport more to get to/from my volunteer shifts at the RSPCA .
Only drive there on weekends
Next week fares in QLD will be 50c.if that increases the amount of people using public transport ,that will mean more crowded services in peak hours and I’ll most likely go back to driving there all the time, can’t stand travelling on crowded buses or trains.
Because my shift times are usually 12pm to 4-4.30 pm ,getting there isn’t a problem,it’s travelling home at that time
I don’t like getting up early anymore to do an earlier shift because for years I had to wake up at 4.30 to 5am when I had to start work at 6 am
I agree. I think the scheme will be a disaster to be honest. It’ll just lead to complaints from the public that there aren’t enough services running to support the overflow.
I’ll be steering well clear of any public transport.
Most people can see through what Miles is trying to do but unfortunately he won’t win. Not sure what it is like where you live but usually there are independent petrol stations that tend to be slower at changing their prices so sometimes you can get it quite considerably cheaper. I don’t believe that they don’t talk to one another as the price goes up and down at the same times.
I got a Tesla while the car itself was expensive to charge it so I can travel say 250km costs about $10 on my home electricity buying petrol in most cars would be at least double that probably more.
Bloody E-scooters:-1:
Even though I avoided the worst of peak hour this afternoon on my way home, I was almost mowed down by one in the CBD while crossing at a busy intersection.
I then had a terrible vision of myself lying badly injured in the street and people walking past and ignoring me.
It’s very busy with scooters, push bikes (usually Uber Eats or Door Dash delivery riders)and stupid people too occupied looking at their phones and not where they’re going.
I just have to avoid the CBD at that time because I don’t feel safe anymore
Delivery drivers are the worst especially when they ride on the footpath to the restaurant to collect the food when they should probably walk the bike on the footpath to the restaurant. I get the sense they are going to knock me over. Sometimes I want to deliberately stand right in their path until they get off their bike and walk it to the restaurant but I’ve never had the nerve.
Only having 1 out of 2 dryers working in the RSPCA laundry room .Every time there’s been a guy out to service the washing machines and dryers there this one dryer is still playing up ,not drying properly They will have to call him to come again soon.
I always check the dryers there for lint and remove it every 3 to 4 hours ,
Also very rainy days like today and I couldn’t hang out any towels or blankets outside on the clothes lines and there were so many bins there full of dirty linen. I hope I’m in a better mood tomorrow to face it ,if I have someone helping me it’s not so bad.
Entitled cyclists and food delivery workers seem to think the rules don’t apply to them. Just yesterday, I was at a red light when a cyclist and a delivery rider zipped past, ignoring the signal and nearly causing an accident in the intersection.
It’s also frustrating to see them ride on the road, hit a red light, then decide to switch to the footpath and cross the intersection at a pedestrian crossing. If I have to take tests and pay registration fees to drive, why shouldn’t they be held to the same standards?
They complain when they get into accidents, but if they followed the same road rules as everyone else, it could be avoided. It’s time to stop acting entitled just because they believe they’re doing something good for the environment.
And just to be clear, I’m not saying all motorists are perfect; they can be just as reckless.
