Not the first time they’ve had a very sunrise-ish looking panel, the late 2000’s they straight up took it national during the weekend sunrise broadcast and for a while was looking like they’d de-Perthify it and take Telethon national.
I have no problems with it being seven personalities. After all it’s telethon and it’s on the seven network. I’m in wa so I can watch it love but anyone over east able to watch through the 7plus live stream? I don’t use the 7 app on my iPhone, I just use the normal channel on my tv.
76-year-old John Bradley raised $25,000 by walking from north to south Cottesloe wearing an mankini. He raised more than $10,000 from the walk, with his son-in-law pledging an extra $15,000 if he promised to wear the mankini on stage in front of the PM.
After returning from the news the tally passed the $52m mark and overtook where last year’s total was just before the end of the night when several major donations of around $10m were made to boost the total. Assuming similar donations this year, it will be another record. (Last year was $62.1m)
Kerry Stokes and family with $3.5m
State Govt contribution to come.
Mark McGowan with personal, Labor Party and WA Govt donations. WA Govt donation is $11m for a new record up by $10m from 2021.
Well done Perth. A great event every year
I had tried a little earlier to talk to Rick Ardon or Susannah Carr if she was available instead, as I’ve always found both of their long careers in the Media very fascinating, from the milestones, to the official acknowledgement from the Guinness World Records, and even the many playful ties that Rick wears.
I had donated yesterday but saw no harm in doing it again since both of them were in the call room again.
The first time I called he was about to mic up and I was advised to call back in a few minutes, the second the same issue, and the third time he was about to go on stage for the finale, so I was given the choice of Ben Cousins from the West Coast Eagles, or Ryan Daniels to talk to.
Initially I was going to choose Ben since my Nanna loved him as a player and with me being an Eagles fan, but I was a little blank on what else I would talk about. The volunteer suggested I talk to Ryan due to his connection with the two, so I did.
It was a very nice opportunity to talk to him and hear his thoughts not only about Rick and Sue (he said that they were humble, their partnership has lasted longer than most marriages, and he has the privilege of being alongside them), but also Sport in general, like Ross Lyon’s return to St Kilda. He said that he would pass on my messages to both of them.
Hardly any audience shots. The new venue doesn’t look quite right or have the same atmosphere as the convention centre did on screen.
And yet, being there in person, the atmosphere is better!
Last night’s telethon looks to be the highest rating since 2019 with the highest rated segments last night 50% higher than 2021.
It was pretty good. I ended up watching it from 9pm to5am.

Great to see the strong commitment to the local community.
why do the big miners make such large contributions? does it make it easier to deal with a state government? Corporates massivley out weigh state and federal contributions
Do we know how it rated on 7+, particularly with other states able to watch.
