Even though you have to pay for it, its never been easier to access the Olympics through Sky via Sky Sport Now. Gone are the days of having to commit to a sky installation and subscription to access a sports event.
I think if you were a big Olympics fan you would buy the pass, so the coverage on Sky Open is probably all it needs to be.
Don’t know if this is how it ultimately played out but wasn’t the arrangement TVNZ could show events featuring NZ athletes live but anything else could only be shown on delay?
Personally prefer coverage without the continual leadership graphics. Viewers should be encouraged to watch the race to track who is leading rather than follow in on graphics.
Sunday evening’s coverage was better, at least the 90 minutes I watched.

About 6.8 million people watched the coverage on BBC One, between 5.45pm and 10.40pm, as Canadian singer Celine Dion performed French singer Edith Piaf’s L’Hymne A L’Amour at the Eiffel Tower.
According to the overnight figures, the BBC said there was a peak of 7.9 million people tuning in.
It is the first games since London 2012, when 22.4 million viewers watched the opening ceremony, without a large time difference, as France is just an hour ahead of the UK.
