You’ve nailed it.

WBD has revealed plans for “wall-to-wall” coverage of the Olympics, which begin later this month in the French capital. Eurosport will show the games across 47 markets in 19 languages through Max and Discovery+ and on most of its television channels.
This will total 3,800 hours, with every moment of the events streamed — including all 329 medal ceremonies, and the opening and closing ceremonies offered in HDR.
Will be interesting to see how they leverage both international team members in each market and the TNT team as well.
Channel 4 has revealed details of its coverage of next month’s Paris Paralympics.
NBC will also present Today from near where Nine’s namesake show will do so
To add to that:
-
TVB has a more artist-studded lineup, with former Chinese springboard athlete He Chong as their highest-profiled professional pundit.
-
Meanwhile, ViuTV’s lineup also include current or ex-athletes, plus karateka Grace Lau, the bronze winner in Tokyo Olympics, as one of the hosts.
-
Both TVB and ViuTV will have 17 extra online/OTT feeds, in addition to their FTA channels, for an immersive viewing experience. The former’s primetime schedule will be dedicated to the Olympics.
-
RTHK will work closer with Chinese state broadcasters on their coverage. In addition, a new channel, RTHK TV36 started test broadcasting with local events, which would be dedicated to Olympics coverage per local forums. Specifics is yet to be announced, but judging by the broadcaster’s pattern of launching Chinese state stations in July (CGTN Documentary in 2022 and CGTN in 2023), it might be another collaboration with Chinese state/regional broadcasters.
Article says they will present from a Studio B, doesn’t say where it is though.
Given four networks will broadcast the Paris Olympics in Hong Kong, I hope there is a consensus that they will not show the same event (especially athletics and swimming finals) on their main channel at the same time, to give viewers more choice. For example, on a given night, TVB and RTHK can show the swimming finals, while HOY shows basketball and ViuTV shows hockey.
Interestingly NBC is also branding its Today Olympic specials as Today in Paris as what they do for past Games
Here is a summary of the coverage of the first day of Paris Olympics on Hong Kong TV.

Presumably a consequence of TVB’s agreement with the Hong Kong Jockey Club, which mandated them to broadcast overseas and local racing events live. Also notably absent from the coverage is TVB Pearl, whereas ViuTV6 will have live games like their Cantonese sister.
… is also the most aggressive scheduling-wise, as the news is pushed forward to 2pm, leaving their usual 6/7pm timeslots for live games. Late news is pushed from 2.30 to 4.30am the following day.
[Update 26/7/2024] Hoy TV (Ch.77) is also ridding their primetime news, with bulletins at 12nn and 4am next morning.
And on the new Channel 36 as well, which will be a simulcast of the Olympic Channel.
TVB Pearl will have daily highlights at 8am and 1pm during the Games.
On Sunday (July 28), Pearl will have live broadcast from 5.40pm to 12.15am, covering lunchtime and afternoon action from day 2. The main news will move forward from the normal time of 7.30pm to 5.15pm.
