Ah yes, sorry. Good to see they are fixing things quickly.
Exactly! IMO Stan is a waste of time and money but it’s owned by the “untouchable” channel 9, I have it for Ru Paul shows but that is about all. It’s overpriced and will be moreso when champions League Football is added. I was always going to get Paramount + for the A-League, Socceroos etc. so I have invested in a yearly subscription. Looking forward to Five Bedrooms and 2nd season of Why Women Kill. Hopefully more will be added soon, maybe even some vintage Paramount movies etc. Looking forward to when ViacomCBS ends their Showtime and Ru Paul’s Drag Race deal with Stan. Drag Race now starts with the MTV logo.
Haven’t signed up yet but I will as I want to watch Five Bedrooms Season 2 and Why Women Kill Season 2, aside from that browsing that list of content there isn’t much else that immediately stands out and movies that are either available elsewhere or that I already own on DVD - a collection that is well over 1,200 movies.
I’ll resub when Dexter lands.
(yes, I had an obsession on collecting dvd’s and has served me well given so much isn’t available on streaming or digital rental).
A rebadged version of CBS All Access with some additional titles is essentially what the US version of Paramount+ was when it launched and frankly still is. The only major differences between the two are the movie library (thanks largely due to a licensing deal with Epix) and a larger collection of soccer rights (eg; they’ve acquired the rights to the Italian and Scottish leagues this season).
There is also still no option to have different profiles. Such a simple tool but they fail to have it.
It was a little more than that. They integrated all of the ViacomCBS brands into the US service from day one. CBS, BET, MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and Smithsonian Channel were all represented. I realise some of those brands and shows are licensed to other services in Australia but it goes to show Australian viewers are being short changed in terms of the amount of content available compared to the US. They couldn’t even be bothered to include live viewing options for the Australian broadcast channels into the local service.
The option to create profiles is available on the US service. Pretty poor that they couldn’t at least replicate that on the Australian service.
There are channel 10 shows on it. Im a celeb, masterchef, the cube etc
And? They were all on 10 All Access too.
Big issue is the lack of Star Trek Discovery and Picard. I know why they licensed them elsewhere but this is a serious issue given the popularity and draw of that content. Same with Good Fight.
Once they have all of the viacomCBS content in place it will be a better proposition. And the introduction of football content will improve it ans bring viewers.
The wishful thinking party… having a 10 News First section similar to CBSN. Could’ve hosted sections out of the Adelaide and Perth newsrooms as well as Sydney. And planted one or two people in cbs news bureaus in London and New York ans had a rolling news service that caters for the Australian audience and really harness content generation.
Apparently this is coming, I saw a few comments on their socials about this feature and that the instructions are on the help part of the site and they replied to say they’re working on it and it’s only available on the international version at this time. Seems like a fairly basic thing they should have had from launch.
I can’t believe they’ve got this Liz Baldwin woman in charge of this service as well as 10 play, she’s really failed to do anything meaningful with that service since she’s been there and her biggest feat is a roll-out of a unified app experience across platforms (fairly basic I would have thought) and a premium pause function purely for advertisers.
You know what. Then don’t launch until it’s ready.
Why launch a half arsed product?
I would have been willing to wait another 6 months if it meant a decent service.
It’s lipstick on a pig and nothing much else.
they would have to launch it before the football season starts wouldn’t you. Otherwise they would have broken their promise year 1.
Under the finder article it had shows listed but no information about season or year etc, assume this has to do with it with placeholders there on the platform for some shows but they haven’t been added properly yet.
I wonder if 10Play will still add all Rugrats seasons (Only 1 season) now it’s on Paramount+ (all seasons). Same with Ren and Stimpy.
Seems to be a glitch, Flatbush Misdemeanours is a Showtime show but doesn’t appear under that category even though it’s on the service.
I was watching Nathan for You and they are missing 1 episode for season 3 and 2 episodes from season 4 which is very annoying.
Often for a reason, due to licensing of something.
Annoying, but it happens.
