that is a shame that they don’t plan on airing Showtime content on FTA. I just thought they might air a few seasons or even a season of them, and asking people to subscribe to Paramount+
I think ViacomCBS needs to put the content where the growth is and that is streaming. FTA is in decline
The audience has shown a Clear preference to pay for and consume scripted content via streaming than FTA.

I think another interesting question mark is the Live aspect Paramount+ is pushing in the States. Their byline is LIVE SPORTS. BREAKING NEWS. A MOUNTAIN OF ENTERTAINMENT.
Interestingly, in other markets, their byline is simply UNIQUE STORIES. ICONIC STARS. A MOUNTAIN OF ENTERTAINMENT.
Live events is the next frontier for streaming. Once that kicks in, we are in a whole new ballgame.

Waiting for 7 and 9 to start a 24 hour streaming news network… give it 2-3 years…

If Seven and/or Nine were to go down the path of a 24/7 news channel, I think they’d make it available via terrestrial TV as well as online in an attempt to erode the ratings of the ABC’s news channel.

Looks like it will be joined by a documentary series involving a former FBI profiler. It reportedly will examine real cases and real criminal behaviour, illustrated by clips from the fictional Criminal Minds series.
A new series based on the computer game Halo is moving to Paramount+ and will debut next year.

‘Frasier’ will be revived with Kelsey Grammer both reprising the title role and executive producing the series.
So far, none of the other cast members are attached to the project, John Mahoney (Martin Crane) passed away in 2018.

The rebrand to Paramount+ happens later this year, no word on pricing.

Not that I was a fan of the show but it is such a clever show to revive for the platform. Its audience would definitely be the audience this streaming service is trying to capture.

ViacomCBS has been very low key in Australia basically operating as Australia’s third commercial network behind Seven and Nine networks.

Another way of putting it: Ten is the unloved, neglected child of the ViacomCBS family that needs to be rescued by DoCS. There was hope for a bright future before CBS entered into the marriage of convenience with abusive step mother Viacom.
