Paramount+ Australia Debuts Official Trailer For New Original Series Fake, Starring Asher Keddie And David Wenham.
Fake Premieres Exclusively On Paramount+ From Thursday, 4 July.
Paramount+ today debuted the official trailer and key art for the highly anticipated new original series Fake, which will premiere exclusively on platform on Thursday, 4 July. Starring Gold Logie award-winning actress Asher Keddie (Lost Flowers Of Alice Heart, Nine Perfect Strangers, Offspring) and Australian Film Institute award-winning actor David Wenham (Elvis, Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers & The Return Of The King), Fake is a gripping eight-part series that explores love in a world of liars, cheats, fantasists and phonies.
Inspired by Stephanie Wood’s powerful memoir Fake, this original Paramount+ drama follows Birdie Bell (Asher Keddie), a magazine features writer who thinks she’s found her perfect match when she meets successful grazier, Joe Burt (David Wenham), on a dating app. But as the relationship intensifies, Birdie is torn between Joe’s magnetic pull and the instinct that her boyfriend isn’t all he has led her to believe.
Kindling Pictures producers Imogen Banks and Emelyne Palmer, and co-producer Asher Keddie, said: " Fake is an intimate and exhilarating exploration of the illusions life lays out for us, through both the lies we are told and the lies we tell ourselves. In her compelling memoir, Stephanie Wood poses the question; what leads people to deny their instincts? This inquiry lies at the heart of Fake as we journey into the depths of our protagonist Birdie Bell’s psyche, and explore how the narratives instilled in us from childhood create fertile ground for deception to thrive.
“We are incredibly proud to have collaborated on this thrilling, courageous and intensely relevant drama with this dream team of extraordinary creatives. Through an intimate first-person perspective, creator and writer Anya Beyersdorf has crafted a compellingly experiential show that will resonate with anyone who has ever been lied to.”
Fake is a vital drama which goes deep inside the psychology of the victim of a love scam. Created for television by AWGIE award-winning screenwriter, Anya Beyersdorf and directed by Emma Freeman, Jennifer Leacey and Taylor Ferguson.
Production Credits: A Kindling Pictures production. Major production investment from Paramount ANZ and Screen Australia, in association with VicScreen. Entertainment One (eOne) will handle international sales.
Ah so not the typical 10Bold style ad.
With Beavis and Butthead moving to Comedy Central in the US does this mean it will move away from Paramount + in Australia?
Paramount own Comedy Central, so likely won’t make any difference to where the show airs in Australia.
who knows? Anything can happen! P+ can pull Beavis and Butthead at any time without notice, they did that to other Paramount shows (Cheers, Rules of Engagement come to mind).
I must have some promo i am paying $89.99 a year .They seem to constantly run these promos and it works on both my email accounts even with the same debit card they don’t seem to care that I’ve been using promo codes ever since Paramount Plus started.

New Series Premieres Exclusively On Paramount+ On Saturday, 10 August.
Paramount+ today revealed the official trailer and key art for the upcoming, all-new original 2D animated series Tales Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. All 12 episodes of the premiere season will debut exclusively on Paramount+ on Saturday, 10 August.
Also revealed today, all-new Tales Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles guest stars include Pete Davidson (Saturday Night Live) as Rod, a lazy rich kid who loves Mutants so much, he’ll do everything in his power to become one, and Alanna Ubach (Ted) as Bishop, a brilliant inventor who believes mutants are the greatest danger to humanity and that all of them, including the Turtles, must be eliminated. Additional guest stars are still to be announced.
The series is produced by Nickelodeon Animation and Point Grey Pictures, who brought audiences last summer’s smash-hit Paramount Pictures film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which is currently available to stream on Paramount+. From the universe of the Mutant Mayhem film, the all-new Paramount+ original series Tales Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles explores the adventures of everyone’s favourite pizza-loving heroes as they emerge from the sewers onto the streets of NYC. Leo, Raph, Donnie and Mikey are faced with new threats and team up with old allies to survive both teenage life and villains lurking in the shadows of the Big Apple.
Reprising their roles from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem are Micah Abbey (Cousins for Life) as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. (THE CHI) as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu (The Walking Dead: World Beyond) as Leonardo, Brady Noon (Family Switch) as Raphael and Ayo Edebiri (The Bear) as April O’Neil.
Tales Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is executive produced by Chris Yost (The Mandalorian, Thor: Ragnarok) and Alan Wan (Blue Eye Samurai, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles [2012 Series]). Production is overseen for Nickelodeon by Claudia Spinelli, Senior Vice President, TV Series Animation, Nickelodeon, and Nikki Price, Director of Development and Executive in Charge of Production.
Lol, it seems 10 didn’t bother to re-voice this for local audiences in Australia as they usually do with their regular voiceover guy.
Asher Keddie is on the cover of the latest issue of Australian Women’s Weekly.

Will be interesting if Paramount+ streams it live direct from the U.S. with the timezone difference.
For example: Show begins at 8PM Eastern time over in America on Saturday, meaning it would be at 10am Australian Eastern time on Sunday morning.
Didn’t they do the same with the Tony’s on Sunday/Monday?
Is anyone using P+ on appletv and had any issues?
I’ve got this recent problem, and only with some shows (Top Gear and now She said) where the stream plays but if you pause, it starts over again.
The played down the bottom says “live” as if it’s a live stream and you can’t skip forward.
I’ve almost given up with this second rate service.
Use Paramount+ on Apple TV all the time with no problems. Used more than any other streaming service and IMO it’s 1st class.
