Always good when media businesses make decisions solely to appease media forums

All jokes aside, this is a good move all around: no loss of competition in the Australian market, plenty of resources to be injected into TEN (hopefully into news and original primetime content) and a new player in the SVOD market

Hopefully CBS does a better job running Ten than CanWest when it owned the network two decades ago.
Although does it mean Ten’s relationship with 20th Century Fox will come to an end? It was mentioned in the Eleven thread that The Simpsons has been dropped from the primetime line up from next week.

Very true.

I’d expect news to be back again as well; one bulletin a day won’t suffice for the new owners I’d imagine.

What was wrong with Canwest? They ran Ten very successfully to the point that it was the most profitable commercial network.

Ten’s current woes began after Canwest sold off its share AFAIK

Now we sit and watch cricket Australia ramp up its cricket rights. This is going to be very interesting!:+1:

I don’t mind it but I think it would look better if the pupil of the CBS eye was the ten logo.

plus we will be getting cbs all access:slight_smile:

Hmm, the CBS This Morning/Evening News set could be re created very easily in Pyrmont.

A strong owner like CBS will hopefully mean Ten will start streaming on TenPlay and maybe curb Win’s worst behaviour like the watermark and the continued use of Cool Hand Luke.

Does this mean anything for viewers though?

No more Simpsons?
