Paramount is inviting clients and media to Dreamworld ahead of the Big Brother launch, on Thursday November 6th.
Upfront guests will get an exclusive first look at the brand new Big Brother House and be lucky enough to enjoy Dreamworld rides following the event.
So that’s why 10 & Paramount were waiting.
Makes sense and is a good hook to get people to attend
Yes and no.
Most national clients and advertisers are based in Sydney or Melbourne.
Might be expensive flying everyone in to showcase 10 News + for 2026. ![]()
It does, a huge gamble on Big Brother succeeding though.
Nine’s chief sales officer Matt James has confirmed that it is in ongoing with its traditional rivals Network 10 and Seven West Media to pool certain resources to make trading easier and more effective, adding the business case to consolidate inventory and trading processes is strong.
Originally, Paramount layoffs were expected to begin in early November, with 2,500-3,000 positions impacted. We understand that for stateside employees that number could be around 2,000, with overseas cost savings still being calculated.
Bev could be on the way out according to The Australian
10 years too late
I wonder what aspect/s of her CV, attracts SBS.
The one where ratings performance, and to a slightly lesser extent ad revenue, aren’t listed as key skills.
Ok who’s planning the party if Bev leaves??
Job cuts primarily in the US but some cuts in international operations also coming.
It’s not just 10 that will be affected by the job cuts, all divisions of Paramount that operate in Australia (including Paramount Pictures distribution and Paramount+ ) will also be hit.
The timing of job cuts is not ideal with 10’s upfronts just a week away. I reckon some executives may not even make it to Dreamworld.
While Paramount undergoes major layoffs across its US operations, staff at Channel 10 have been told the Australian network will remain largely untouched by the restructuring.
Network sources tell TV Blackbox that employees at the local broadcaster were reassured today that no significant changes are planned, despite widespread job losses overseas.
Ten is already being run on the smell of an oily rag. They can’t possibly cut more staff and keep the network running.
Plus they just reduced their overheads (this year) with the loss of The Project.
Ten boss says partnerships and consolidation crucial to survival in era of streaming services
Network Ten’s president Beverley McGarvey says Australian media companies will need to be increasingly open to consolidation and industry partnerships if they are to survive in the streaming era.
Ms McGarvey, who is also the head of streaming and the regional lead of Ten’s parent company, Paramount Australia, says the one-time “youth network” is willing to “collaborate with other broadcast partners, with tech partners, with content partners, with commercial partners, with brands”.
Ms McGarvey pointed to the recent partnership between Paramount Australia and LG Electronics, which allows LG Smart TV owners to watch live and scheduled content from 10’s main channel, as well as 10 Drama, 10 Comedy and Nickelodeon, via an IP address and without the need to plug in a terrestrial aerial.
The Ten boss suggested that the network would be announcing further partnerships “in that space” in coming months.
Asked about her future at Ten, amid media speculation that she might be interested in the vacant managing director position at SBS, Ms McGarvey said: “I like the job that I have now. I don’t know what the future looks like, but right now I am very happy here.”
Has this happened yet? I’m yet to see it appear and it was happening last month?
I haven’t heard of this? Are they gonna let 10 channels from 10watchandstreamfree be on the fta list like any other antenna channels? Like how foxtel does it?
